I'm looking to put some visor/deflectors on my '24 taco. Any recommendations as to which type, in channel or tape on. I'm leaning towards in channel because I think they have a cleaner and lower profile look. Does the in-channel type affect the closing of the window at all?

In channel. Closing the window will be fine and it won’t mess up your paint in the long run.

I had the tape on for my 07 and the paint around that area is mess up on all 4 door. Plus, after 2-3 years, you will need to remove and replace the tape because for what ever the reason, it will stop sticking. Because of this, I have the in channel for my 21.

Had a set of in channels on a 91 F150 long ago w/ power windows.
Little extra "effort" per motors to get em closed.
    Kinda bugged me.

Went 400 sandpaper on inside lip of them per the window contact surface area very very lightly.
Used a wood slat for sanding board
    Taped off the shoulder slope.
Test and fit 3 or 4 times.
Then used 1000 and 1500 grit on last install.

No issue with them being loose or hearing motor " struggle" that last 1/4 to 1/2 inch the 3 years I had the truck.

Planning on installing some later this summer on my Tacoma.
If I run into same issue I will do same solution.

Never liked the idea of adhesive on paint.

I have in-channel AVS Ventvisors on my 2018. At first, they did cause the window to stop short of fully closing (apparently they were tripping the safety device that stops a blocked window). The window was hitting against the edge of the visor at the end, so I chamfered it slightly with a Dremel (set to low speed) so the window can slip past it easier. Since then, no problems at all. Definitely go with in-channel, the other ones do look like crap.

In channel. Best add-on ever. Can leave windows cracked during hot weather and still keep out rain showers.

Have always wanted something for the rear slider too. Just not found one.
