So decided to clean the interior today. I put the passenger window down and now she won't go back up. Took apart the door out of curiosity, checked all fuses....can't figure it out. Only thing I can think of is the window motor maybe????

Somebody help please. Any thoughts? Anyone else have this happen?

Gotta ask, you didn't push the window lock button, did you? The one that makes it so you can't roll the window up and down.

Unfortunately, it is not the window lock.

We had this happen on our Sienna; make sure the window itself is on the roller tracks, as the window (glass) on the Sienna had somehow got off the tracks.

Could you still hear the motor working or was there no sound at all? I don't hear anything happening in my door.

I USED TO consider myself intelligent with common sense, however, I question that now. So apparently I hit the window lock button, didn't realize it and proceeded to check fuses and tear apart the door. Seems I unplugged the plug for the switch and then reassembled the door with it unplugged so when I got the advice to check the switch (which I proceeded to do), it showed no result. Oh, and lets not forget while doing all this I broke the little green thing that holds the interior door handle to the opening mechanism. Guess thats why God gave us duct tape. Window and door are now both functional.

Feel free to hurl insults and ridicule my direction, after this it's much deserved.

Every once in a blue moon my passengers side window will go down, but not back up. The window lock button was not pressed, that's the first thing I checked. A few minutes later it will go back up, and then continue working fine for months. Can't figure it out, because it is so intermittent.

Damn, talk about reviving an almost 10 year old thread. Haha.

Try testing the window motor by applying 12v and Negative to each lead and reversing polarity. If the motor operates as it should then either your passenger window switch or master switch is broken. If the motor does not operate correctly then you need a new motor.

I had the same problem - once - after trying three times to climb a nasty, slippery hill in 4 low with the locker on. It worked fine five minutes later. My son made it without a locker, but way better tires. Both 1st gens.

I had that problem flair out during a skiing trip, with a date who turned out to be a flake...

Anyhoo, after wrangling with it for weeks, and still, I took the truck to my Yota mechanic. He said that some plastic clip that helps the window go up, had desintegrated. I told him to replace the driver side too. He was like "it still working, why?", I was like yeah, still working, for how long? When he dismantled the driver side interior trim, the same clip, now on the driver side, turned to dust.

If you are more mechanically inclined than me (most people are) take down both doors interior trim, my guess is, the plastic clip on your passenger door, kick the bucket.

Can you show us which part is the plastic clip on a fiche/parts diagram by chance?
