Is this something that can cause leaks and more damage that I should look to get repaired? Anyone else noticed this? I tried to get something flat under it and lift it back up but the rubber wouldn't lay back down on the glass.

get some heat on it and use a plastic flat interior pry bar and its will likely settle back down. Doesn't seem like cause for concern but you can always swing by the dealership or an auto glass shop and see if they can figure it out.

You may have to pull the wiper cowl off and reinstall it making sure the rubber is on top of the glass.
This will not cause a leak but you may have some wind noise.

Yes that’s a concern and will leak. Looks like a bad window install, kinda doubt that was like it from the factory (But seen worse mistakes). If that’s OEM glass, see if the dealer will fix it for you.

I would not worry greatly. Glass is urethaned in. It should not leak. Take a plastic putty knife and get under it where it is not under the glass and slowly lift and work you way down, careful not to tear. Heat is not needed and would make it too soft, just park in sun for few hours

edit, I just saw rubber would not stay down. Take it for warranty. Glass will need to come out and seal replaced possibly. I don’t have your parts list to be sure, I will check

It won’t leak- the glass is sealed at the bottom edge with adhesive. That weatherstripping is part of the cowl/cowl vent and only seals against debris, not water. Leaving it that way isn’t going to harm your truck.
It is a cosmetic issue though, but a relatively simple fix. You can remove the trim piece (which requires you to remove the windshield wipers as well) and let it sit in the sun for an afternoon to help mold it back into its original shape. I’d avoid taking a heat gun to it as you’d most likely warp the rubber or plastic. You’d then need a second set of hands to reinstall it- mostly because it’ll flop around as you know it back up and will probably get pinched again. Just a few plastic clips and two bolts.

It is hard to tell. Your glass will not leak. From the diagram it look like your seal only comes with the glass. I would see f you have any warranty left. If not go to a body shop that has a glass unit or dealer. If the seal is separate they just remove the glass and replace.

Glass tech may be able to get your seal to sit with double sided tape

Or it may be part of the cowl trim, good point @GHOST SHIP

Mine does the same thing. You can try and readjust it, but it will keep sliding under. I didn't bother to take it in and it's been fine.

Is the cowl plastic possibly sitting too low? Look at how off-center it is at the wiper shaft opening.

I know because I’ve had my cowl off a bunch of times. I’ve pinched it like that as well and fixed it like I mentioned.

If you pull the cowl off, be careful of the two clips in the middle of it. I inadvertently snapped both of mine in half when I removed it, to wire mesh in the air intake for the cabin.

Would be a good time to vacuum out all of the debris you may find under there too.

I did this to mine while washing my windshield. I tried supporting my body weight with my hand on the cowl. Oooops! Like some other posts mentioned, I took a trim tool and just ran it underneath the cowl along the windshield. Lifted the whole thing back over the windshield. Good as new.

I didn't notice that before...it does seem like the rubber on the glass has slidden downward. I'll take a look at the cowling and see what's up with that.

I love and hate this site at the same time...

The glass rubber is a H shape for a reason. One of those H legs is folded under glass, think about what that means to the watertight seal.

This happened to me everytime I had my windshield replaced . Installers didn't put it back correctly. You a plastic trim removal tool on a warm day and it will go back on top of the glass.

Good advice guys! I did the same yesterday while washing truck… put a hand on it to lean and reach the windshield… and pushed the seal under. Was worried about trying to pry too hard and glass shattering. Used a small plastic panel removal tool to pry it up and used a hose pic (metal wrapped in electrical tape so not to contact glass) and just slowly worked my way across. Couple small imperfections, but I’m hoping some warm sun will smooth things out.

    Thanks for the help!
