Man that thing is so easy to replace… I pulled it off to seal the gap on mine and it took about 15 minutes all in. Pull the wipers off and it’s just a few clips. Water will drain right through those gaps onto the cabin air filter and eventually it seeps into the fan. If you have access to a garage there is no reason not to just change it. All this “reshape it” shit man cmon

Is your gf the hulk? Like its not a ton of damage per se, but its also really hard to damage that piece soo...

That rubber strip does play a part in directing rain water off the glass and into the trough where it can drain out via the wiper holes or the corners. Not sure the damage is bad enough to leak normally, but it might during heavy rain or a carwash.

Id try a junk yard first for the part

My guess is it’s not the labor but that fact that it costs 500-600 bucks for a new one. I’d certainly be trying a home repair before spending that much.

I’ll actually give props to the gf for getting her ass out of the warm truck. Most would just sit there and glare.

The correct answer is dump the GF and move to a warmer climate. Currently 66 degrees in San Diego.

    Bend is pretty nice.

As for issues to have, this one isn’t so bad. Wouldn’t lose much sleep over this windshield issue.
