    Hello all,

I recently got my windshield replaced on my 2018 Tacoma with an oem one. Install seems fine but the molding piece on each side looks a little off. There is like a small gap and I am not sure of this is normal. I’ve attached pics for better illustration.

Who did the install ? I would address it with them . You shouldn’t have any gaps .

My molding outside didn’t look perfect, doesn’t affect watertight seal, just looks a bit wonky. The guy said he would fix it if it bothered me, which is doesn’t. Naturally the new one cracked within a few weeks also so now I’m just living with it.

Local glass shop in Porterville, CA. The glass sits flush on the truck but the molding sticks out a little. Do you mind sharing a pic of yours if you can?

Outside. I just don't remember how it look originally. I was just too focused on the replacement being oem -- which the insurance at first didn't want to cover.

My outside has that gap as well. Came from the dealer like that. Should be fine.

I find it handy for tucking wires in for stuff I run up to the roof

Let me tell you the bad news. It doesn't matter who you use to install your replacement windshield because it will always be worse than the original OEM windshield that was installed in the factory. Trust me as I wish I never cracked my OEM:(

Yep, pretty much. Next best thing was to at least get the OEM windshield even though insurance did not want to at first.
