They didn't even bother to tell me. I saw it when I took the tape off. Then it spent 3 days in the body shop getting touched up. 20190406_164516.jpg

Wow, thats terrible man. I had my windshield replaced at speedy glass and it went fine, except they left dots of black silicone on both sides of fender flares in a same pattern. I asked them what i should use to remove it, they apologized and said: no worries, our tech will clean it right now. I told them im very anal and shes pretty much new, so please, dont leave swirl marks in the paint.

When he was done, truck was in their garage. He asked me to come and have a look, i used my flashlight and saw some swirlmarks and just said its fine, f*** it. I knew i could buff it out.

Now, my second windshield is cracked again , and im only at 7k miles haha .:censored:

    Good luck man.

Lol. I don't expect it'll cause that much of an uproar. It's fixed but I can still tell it happened. It shouldn't rust at least. I'm just curious if others have had similar experiences.

There was plenty of adhesive smeared around it too. The glass they installed was also scratched so they had to take it out and replace it anyway. Of course that happened at the body shop so the damage they caused could be fixed while it was out. I guess I'm just not allowed to have anything nice.

Jesus christ. U went in there with a flashlight? Paint is soft as fuck. You wash the car carefully and will get swirl Mark's. It happens. Guy was probably standing back and saying to himself, "look at this mofo". As you took the flashlight out and held it sideways to the paint to make the swirls catch the light. Lol

The truck was pretty much brand new so, not sure whats your point. If you dont care about your paint, thats great man! They screwed up. Im very anal when it comes to my paint.

Those were not those swirl marks like you get after washing your truck. You can see someone rubbed in those areas and its still kinda hazy.

You should see people when they pickup their truck from the body shop
Crawling all underneath it, staring at spots from 4 inches away.

    Canada.

    Doesn’t count.

Plot twist: paint is the same quality on the $25k base model as it is on the TRD Pro. Soft, and poor.

I got a screamin' deal on my truck. But I'll be WAY past 51k when I'm done with it. Maybe he's including mods?

Edit: Canada eh? I see. ;-)

When they use the air knife to cut out the old glue, they miss alot or they push the knife in too deep and it cuts away the paint.

If you ever see a car with rust around the windshield, this is the reason for it... they cut the paint, but dont fix it, they just slap in the new window knowing that you will never know. Then 10 years down the road its rusted a hole in the windshield frame.

It shouldn't matter in this situation how much someone paid for their vehicle. I'd feel bad for a kid who just bought his first $3k beater and had this happen.

I only went to this place because they're one of the only companies who offer tint around here and they do two windows for free with an insured windshield. They also screwed up the scheduling and couldn't do my tint the same day as we had planned. After seeing the damage they did to my paint I didn't even want them doing the tint. Dude was even going to do the job for free and I declined. I'd sooner pay someone on a street corner to work on my truck than take it back to them.
