Please don't give this imbecile the opportunity to put his hands on your truck and do further damage. Whatever you get quoted from the dealer to do a full inspection as well as replacement of all the damaged parts on the truck should be paid by the glass company.

I'd be livid as fuck if I went to pick up my new baby and it looked like that. Good luck OP, sorry this had to happen

    EDIT: :canada:

It's not the same guy changing the windshield again, this time it's the owner of the company. I wouldn't go as far as calling him an imbecile for his attempts to make it right. The original tech...absolutely!

That truck has been brutally raped and the OP will have a life-long memory of this emotional scar.

If the glass guy fixes everything on it, I'd trade it in at the dealer for another one.... Let the dealer be responsible for the annoying dash noises that would likely come.

His is a 1st gen and the opening was bigger then. My 1999 I had the lock on the shell jam and the owner of the shell dealer was able to crawl through and open it.

    You didn't try hard enough

That's how my 1st aftermarket HU was stolen.

OP-You said this was on base? Might be worthy of a review by whoever controls on base contracting, ITT/MWR maybe? If anything a heads up in case they have had this issue in the past and were hoping the company would get their act together.

    Update:

Picked up my truck today from being repaired. Brand new windshield (with the proper seals around), and repaired interior. It looks great and the owner did a great job. He still felt really bad and he asked me if it wasn't good enough he'd have it redone. I was happy with it. He also said if I ever need anything, including tint he'll do it free of charge. He is a good man, if only every one of his workers was the same way. The guy who did the original job doesn't work there anymore, I never got his name but it's not important. What matters is that he made things right. I would suggest, and I will be doing this for now on, that whenever you get a windshield repaired watch over it like a hawk. I couldn't do it the first time because of work, but in the future I will have them do it only when I am around. It's nice in AZ (with USAA) because you have unlimited windshield repairs/replaces with all the rocks that get kicked around, and to make sure the job gets done right the first time would really make it all worth it.
