Update: I had the spot repaired today. Looks crappy. It rained, so I ended up taking it in the shop rather than them come to my work. He warned me before hand that it was deep and basically fixable, but going to be very noticable. Looked like the middle of the chip was down to the plastic layer between the inner and outer piece of glass if I understood him correctly. It filled the cracks, but in the middle it's foggy, probably a 3/8 circle. If it wasn't in my line of sight I would deal, but I told them to just go ahead and order a new window. Extra money, but it'll make me feel better not looking at it all the time.

I tried a repair once with Novus (on my GTI) and it looked like shit, I'll just have it replaced next time. They tried the "yeah we'll put that toward a replacement if your not happy." I bet they would when they are the most expensive replacement shop around.

Same boat here with my wife's prius. $500 comprehensive deductible and by the time you factor in a windshield and tss calibration it was well over 1200 dollars
