Has anyone had a windshield replaced for 2019 Tacoma? If so how much should I expect to spend... I'm getting wide price quotes? Thanks

If you go through your insurance they will likely send you to Safelite. That would not make me warm and fuzzy. When I had to replace the windshield on my wife's Prius a year and a half ago an OEM windshield and re-calibration by the dealer was just over $1k. At first my insurance company balked, but the shop told the claims people that the dealer would not re-calibrate the TSS with an aftermarket windshield. True or not I don't know, but Prudential ended up reimbursing me for 100% of the cost.

Chose someone myself when I had insurance replace my glass. Insurance wanted to use non oem but my guy argued with them that if they spend $$ on non oem and it needs to go in for calibration it will cost $$$$. They went with OEM which was close to $800 but no calibration required if installed correctly.

I paid $400 at Safelite for my 2017 recently. It doesn’t have TSS.

I paid 400 for my 19. It's BS about the camera calibration. Just don't unplug it and it won't need to be recalibrated.

I have no idea what TSS is...even with comprehensive coverage or other than collision as it's called in my state you still have to pay the in my case $500 deductible so zero isn't an option for me

It’s extremely rare when people need calibration, but it does happen and it does cost a good amount to have it done. But it’s something like $1k on top of the windshield price to have it done.

Toyota Safety Sense. It’s all the cameras and radars on your truck.

I understand your frustration, but honestly. Have someone install the Pilkington glass for you. Pilkington makes the Tacoma glass, the only difference is the Toyota logo will be blacked out. I did this for my first windshield replacement since my deductible was $1k. Changed my deduc after to $0 and the second time around got the full blown OEM. I personally don’t recommend safelite glass unless you drive a 96’ Camry.

The only good part about living in Florida with all these crazies (besides the weather of course) is that glass replacement isn't subject to deductible here. So no matter what your comp deductible is, there isn't a deductible on glass.

Nice! With good driving history and a bunch of nonsense discounts it’s only about $4/m extra California.

I replaced mine last year. I paid $500 deductible and the insurance company paid $450. That included the recalibration.

They didn’t recalibrate for that price. That’s just install.

To me any recalibration of anything is typically just a pay up sucker type money making rachet.

Total for him was 950. Can pretty much guarantee there was a recalibration at that price. Same I was quoted with recalibration.

Would love to see the invoice. Toyota dealers charge much more than that. Unless it was done at a partnership shop.

I just had mine replaced. OEM glass 0 deductible, and USAA paid for the recalibration. Glass was north of 800. I paid the dealer and USAA paid me back. Only PIA was that the recal takes like 3-4 hrs so they need it for a half day. Recalibration was about 400.00 alone.

That's what safelite quoted me for both too. My insurance sent me to them. Didnt use them but exact same price with calibration.
