Lucky me, even staying back 250 feet from a dump truck, he still manage to kick a rock into my windshield and it immediately turned into a 2 foot crack right in my vision..

Ok, well guess what, because the Tacoma windshield is a new design this year, shopping around, OEM and Aftermarket windshields are $700 and up. I didn't see that one coming. If you own a 2015 or older 2nd gen, $165 to replace. LOL..

My insurance deductable is $500, I'm hearing since claim under 2k and comprehensive, rates shouldn't go up?..

Anyone know something I don;t on trying to get a windshield say around $350 instead ;)

I am glad to be back in AZ where 0 deductible glass coverage is pretty standard. I remember living in Los Angeles for 10 years, there was no such coverage offered for whatever reason.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I've replaced a 3 piece back glass in my tundy and a windshield in my Tacoma at $100 each under comprehensive. Rate never changed.

Check with your carrier, typically a comprehensive claim is a non-chargeable claim. Also, ask your agent if they have any endorsements that waive the deductible for glass.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
FWIW... SafeLite (sp?) did a Ridgeline for me and they were excellent and profession in their factory shop @ $425.00. They were recommended by USAA.

2 of my buddies had windshields replaced at about $350.00 and both had scratches all over their front fenders and 1 had a big scratch on the top from the scraper used to clean the window channel.

after replacing a few vehicle windshields, at my expense, I found out that to go from a $500 deductible to $0 deductible for comprehensive only costs about $8 more Semiannually. I figure that it is cheap insurance for piece of mind.
