As someone who actually uses the gopro mount, does safelite have special "gopro" windshields for us, or is that something they re-adhere?

This probably doesn't answer your question but perhaps gives you some insight. When I had glass repaired not replaced on my F-150, Safelite offered an option to buy their brand windshield which was almost $200 cheaper, or you can purchase OEM that they will install for you.

Yes, it had the mount. Didn't say go pro on it though.
So, after an aggravating call with the 3rd party warranty rep, who Kept claiming she couldn't hearme, I just took the truck to my insurance agent, had them look at it, take a picture or two, and THEY made some phone calls. Then I got a call from State Farm insurance adjuster people about it, who said they had safelight on the phone, but SHE claimed to not be able to hear me. Sorry people, I don't sit in a fricken cubicle and talk on the phone for a living. I work in a noisy environment, and if anything it should be ME having trouble hearing on the phone because I have hearing loss because of the aforementioned noisy environment. I made it pretty clear I didn't want anything to do with safelight though. A while later who do you think calls me? The local safelight manager. So he wants to look at the truck. I made it pretty clear to him I didn't really want anything to do with them, but apparently my insurance talked to some one, because he said he "needed to make sure I was taken care of". Hmmm. Now Im thinking I may need to take my gun................... lol............... So I got the idea, Meet me at the Toyota dealership. Im gonna get a quote from them to fix the damage, and if this dude try to give me any guff there will be plenty of Tacomas to compare to, plus people running around that know a thing or two about Tacomas.
    Give me any guff.:D

So, a little update, for anyone who is interested.
I took the truck into Toyota to look at it, and man. This windshield guy caused some damage.
The safelite manager came out and looked at the truck, and actually found some more damage. The interior passenger A pillar cover and the headliner was damaged.
So, the cost of this bad window install is going to cost over 3,000$. Safelite said they are paying for it, plus they are going to pay for a rental, because this is going to be a major repair and is going to take time.
So, Toyota is getting everything ready and is going to order parts and they will call me when they are ready for me to bring it in.
And the windshield was definitely installed improperly. The body shop guy came out and saw it right away.

Glad to hear Safelite is stepping up to the plate to fix the hatchet job they did on your truck.

That is soo insane! I'm glad they're fixing your truck, but the hassle sucks. This is my fear with my broken windshield. I never had a trouble free windshield replacement ever, but not motivated enough to learn how to do it myself.

Same here, I had a new truck that got a broken windshield and the insurance company sent me to this little glass place, the garage was not high enough to get the truck all the way inside and it was snowing and sleeting outside. After they removed my windshield a delivery guy came with crates of windshields and the old guy says take my truck outside and park it, we got into a big screaming match because I did not want my truck outside with no windshield or anything to cover it in the middle of a snow/sleet storm! So they rushed the job and just stuffed a windshield in and screwed it all up.

Its hard to find good glass installers not sure if you got after market windshield. I've been in the glass biz on and off for the past 10years. If you go through your insurance always ask for OEM glass. And safelite should cover any damages to your vehicle. Note o worked for them for 2years then went into business for myself.

Any type of mount that aren't OEM is up to the customer to replace them selves just alil info for you unless you ask the installer if he can reattach it for you.

That was my 2nd car. I was 17, and your father was probably right :). I took a turn too fast in the rain, and I lost the rear-end and failed to correct it. I ended up crashing into two trees off-road.

Rain and Fox Mustangs are not a good combo, I have had the rear try to trade places with the front on wet pavement before...
