Update 1: Same as Vandy09, 3 possible squirter options, dealers hasn't seen this before, non adjustable, parts ordered, should arrive in 1-2 days.

Update 2: Airbag recall voicemail, was a miss call from Toyota, was meant for my mother and her Rav4. No recalls on my truck so far. Now if I could only figure out why it backfires on startup :frusty:

    4 cylinder?

That was a problem in the second gen 2.7s also. Usually in colder weather.

No go, new shroud is on order. My service rep said that they made them take it to the collision center and make sure it hasn't been in an accident. Came back clean, so they are hoping it is just a bad shroud. Service rep said that there wasn't much information about this, and nothing really to go off of.

I have a feeling it might be the hood. He said they took a shroud off another truck and it didn't make a difference. This is kind of a pain, the dealer is 30min away and this is a lot of useless driving for something stupid.

Maybe I can get a sport hood out of this:rofl:

I go back Tuesday for the shroud. interesting that they put another on and it didn't work. time will tell. I've been to the dealer now 4 times for this if it's the hood I'll push for the sport for my hassle lol

Nice, but bummer, I was hoping for a sport hood, lol!

I'm out of town all week for work, so I'll see if I can take it in this weekend.

    Thanks for the update

Oh man, I haven't taken my truck back in to try the new cowl. Funny what an inconvenience not have windshield squirters is. I wonder if they know the new cowl isn't going to fix it, and that is why they haven't called me back in.

In for sport hood bro :benchpress:

Had a similiar issue where my squirters starting spraying wierd intermittently. Disconnected hose under hood prior to squirter and connected to a squeeze bottle filled with water to check if they were blocked. Only to find the squirters worked fine this way. Reconnected and tried again using the wiper switch and they sprayed excellent. Closed the hood and tried them with the switch and worked as they should. Wierd I thought. Couple days later had the hood open. Later when went to use the windshield washer, only to find they were down to a dribble this time. WTF. Took a little head scratching and looking but finally found the problem. The washer hose was being pinched when the hood was being closed. Not always, just some times and the pinching at times could be more than others, creating different spray patterns from the squirters. The hose is routed beside the hood mount flange on the passenger side and enough slack had developed (1") in the hose that it was at times, being pinched between the hood mount flange and the upper fender flange where they meet when closed. Over time it seems, little slack had developed in the hose between the clips that are used to mount the hose to the hood. Pulled the little slack out of the hose and headache solved.

One seems to spray pretty hard just for some reason the passenger side catches the back lip of the hood but hell I'll check it out when I get my truck back in see

Well this has been a huge pain In the ass. So they took my truck to the body shop, swayed hoods and it worked as it should. I guess toyota is getting more of these issues. So now my truck is the test mule. I wanted them to swap for a sport hood, but they are trying to figure out the problem so I've gotta stay with a one for one replacement.

They order my hood. Take my truck and new hood monday. Paint it, install it etc. Guy calls yesterday am, says they should be done with the truck about 4 from the body shop. They are going to give it to the head tech to make sure everything is cool and I should have my truck about 530pm. Well 430 rolls around and the service guy calls acting really strange. I say so? We good to go?

He tells me we were, but......uuhhhh......not sure how to tell you this......but your truck is headed back to the body shop....

    I'm like...soooo why?

He tells me they were pulling it into get a final look over and the tech ran it into the lift. Needs a new bumper fender and fender flair now.

WTF!!! Hope to get pics today. Said I should be getting it next week sometime now.

Only good thing is I've got a 17 TRD or inferno to drive instead of the rav4. But still.

On a side note, I REALLY like the color of this truck I'm driving. U was the drive thru yesterday, I pay this girl at the window. She looks at me, looks at the truck, looks at me and says, "God that is really and awful color!!"

    Lol. Who says that

@Vandy09 man, can't believe they crashed your truck. That's pretty lame.

I noticed my hood up by the cowl is about 1/8" lower on both sides than the fenders, I wonder if that is what is causing the issue of the pinched lines/ misalignment.

I still need to take mine in for the new plastic cowl piece, but I'm thinking that's not going to solve the problem.
