Tint the visor a little lower then 8 inches. I have 12 inches on mine. Tinting the windshield even slightly is unsafe. You cant roll the windshield down to see through it. Wear good polarized sunglasses during the day. you will strain your eyes worse trying to see through a tinted windshield at night....

Problem with Windshield tint is if you are ever in an accident the opposing Attorney will use that to assign some blame......They use in dash DVD players that have been tampered with to play while driving successfully in defending their clients in liability lawsuits. Anything against the law can be used as indicative of reckless disregard for the law. Ignorance of the law is never an excuse. I have 10" of the visor tinted with cling tint. Used water and Dawn to apply and it looks and acts like regular tint. I use it to hide the hanging Garmin and rear view camera when parked.
    Easily removable.

Ever since Lasik, my eyes are very sensitive to light. I also get halos around lights at night, so I will be asking my eye doctor about this next check up.. i think if you go light enough, safety wont be affected as much, however that black truck in the link is way too dark!

I think it helps out a lot with keeping the sun out, and looks awesome. I've got my windshield tinted at 25% and the sides 5%, I don't even have to wear sunglasses at times. Just keep an eye out for coppers.

Do you have experience driving at night with a tinted winshield? It really depends on how dark you tint it.

In the thread for the black truck it says he has a 5% strip on his windshield then the rest of his windshield is 35%. He also has 5% stacked on 20% on the sides. All this together and the fact that it is cloudy outside when he took the pictures makes the windshield look very dark. I have 35% on my windshield as well and I can see just fine out of my windshield at night. On a sunny day it doesn't look that dark, 35% is lighter than the factory tint on the back windows.

I have 50% polarized on my front, 20% on the sides. The only issue I have at night is on the edges of the headlights, aka deer on the sides of the roads. I generally kick my fogs on and it brings the periphery back to acceptable levels. In the city it is no problem at all with all the street lights on.

The 50% makes it comfortable for me to drive without sunglasses which is a great relief when driving long distances. The sunglasses get heavy after a long time.

If you polarize the front and then wear polarized sunglasses you start getting some funny color blends.

Edit: Look up the tint laws for your state. In AL, doctor prescription gets you any tint you want. Without, can be charged with up to a misdemeanor.

I have my windshield tinted and I love it.

The tint guy said you can get an exception to keep in your glove box if you have RX for sunglasses. Just takes a couple of hours at the court house.

I really think that they have more important shit on their mind than pulling someone over for tint. My taco is wrapped in 5% and the windshield is at 35%. My truck has been like this since march of this year and still hevaent been pulled over.

I have very sensitive eyes, but won't probably tint my side windows. Cops will pull you over eventually, over and over again. Not worth the attention even if they can't ticket you.

5% Front strip and doors, 20% wrapped around the rest of the truck.
I have a ? regarding tint. Can I install another layer of 20% over the 20% I have on my front windows? I plan on going over the factory also with 20% to make everything darker. So I guess my question is can I stack window tint?

Also how is the pre-cut 3m color stable off eBay? Anyone work with the pre cut stuff?

I live in Pennsylvania and they are strict as well. But ur front windshield has what they call AS1 line (it's stamped on the windshield, left or right side). U can see it about 6 inches from the top of windshield. As long as the tint doesn't fall below that Mark it's legal. I put limo tint to that Mark and haven't had any issues.

Tint looks cool, I like it a lot. But if you hit some kid in a crosswalk at night, you are going to lose everything you own, even if you have a doctors note for your tinted windshield. A sweet pair of sunglasses, or two, are cheaper than windshield tint anyway, and why would you ever want more attention from the cops?
