Dudes, post pics of your truck if you have a tinted windshield. Considering getting all the vehicles done in llumar air 80 and would like to know how it looks. If you post a photo please include the film you have on the windshield and side windows. Thanks!

Also, for the ones who live in states that require inspections or registration stickers on the windshield, how do you do that every year without damaging the film?

I have 3M Cyrstalline on all my windows. My windshield is 70% so it’s basically clear you can’t tell it’s on there. But it blocks 100% UV and 97-98% infrared which is the part that heats up your cab sitting in the parking lot in the summer. I believe it’s the absolute best window tint money can buy and so worth it if you live like me in the least cloudy and hottest part of the nation.

70% ceramic on the front and all the rest are 35%. Had the shop put it over the factory privacy glass on the back doors and slider for the heat rejection. Passes inspection and no problem seeing to drive at night.

When I got 5% ceramic tint, my tint guy offered me 70% ceramic on my windshield. Wish I would of done it now.

I heard tint sometimes causes headlight glare at night, though. Is this true?

Llumar ceramic all around, except nothing on shell. Air 80 on windshield. 30 percent on rear side cab windows. 40 on front cab side windows.

Edit: Have since added DIY blackout on side shell windows and drapes for shell back window.

I want one of those snugtops so bad but I can't get a price on one, how much did that cost?

This GB Sport with Prolock, folding down front window, and roof track was 3K. I am a good drive away from the nearest Snugtop dealer and hence my bargaining mojo was limited. And yeah that was a big number for me to swallow. If you are not so limited, definitely shop around. Or go with another brand.

And it took six weeks to get to the dealer.

That's actually the same setup I want for the same cap. But the closest dealer to me is 15 hours away in Missouri. Im kind of teetering on that cap now, it doesn't exactly flow with the lines of the truck like some other caps do

If you don't like the looks and the nearest dealer is that far away, then most certainly go a different direction.

I went with it despite the cost, because:

    a) No folding/sliding windows means less chance for water leaks
    b) I will be doing long distance travel with parking lot boondocking included. SUV look will hopefully help me blend in.

At least that is the plan. But, as the great philosopher Mike Tyson once said, "Everybody has a plan, then they get punched in the face".

I've done the 3m crystaline on a previous car and then regular 3m tint on the other windows. In my experience just having the windshield done wasn't that great. I still got a lot of heat in the car from the other windows. I'd do all the windows with crystaline if I were to do it again

I will be traveling multiple states, including CA. My tinter kept telling me that is the state the truck is registered that applies. I have read the horror stories in TW and others. I told him I still do not want to be pulled over. So I went with 40 on the front sides even though my state allows 30. I understand CA is 70. I figure 40 is opaque enough that a cop can see me and not want to pull me over.

You shouldn't have an issue. I see military with out of state tags all the time with really dark tint on the front and they're left alone because of the registering state. Safe travels.
