Is there any way you could post a pic from the inside of the taco looking out the windshield? I am between crystalline 70 and llumar air 80 on the windshield, leaning toward the crystalline.

Sorry off topic but how hard is it to remove or put that shell on? What does it weigh and I’m assuming two able bodied people or can it be done by your self?

As posted from Jeff Lange, that is incorrect:

    2018 Tacoma Factory Tint
Windshield: 70% Tint, 100% UV Reduction, 55% Heat Reduction
Front Door: 70% Tint, 55% UV Reduction, 45% Heat Reduction
Rear Door (Access Cab, w/o Privacy): 70% Tint, 58% UV Reduction, 62% Heat Reduction
Rear Door (Access Cab, with Privacy): 20% Tint, 18% UV Reduction, 25% Heat Reduction
Rear Door (Double Cab, w/o Privacy): 70% Tint, 55% UV Reduction, 45% Heat Reduction
Rear Door (Double Cab, with Privacy): 20% Tint, 80% UV Reduction, 75% Heat Reduction
Back Window (w/o Privacy): 70% Tint, 44% UV Reduction, 53% Heat Reduction
Back Window (with Privacy): 20% Tint, 18% UV Reduction, 25% Heat Reduction

So, looking at the windshield: factory is 55% heat reduction, 3M Crystalline CR70 is 50% heat reduction (TSER). So, the factory windshield is actually better. What happens when you put CR70 on the windshield? Not a lot... it's already blocking 100% UV, 30% visible, and probably over 90% infrared... you wouldn't gain any more than an additional 10% heat reduction. (70% vis makes it through, CR70 blocks 31% of that, visible is 44% of TSE.)

There is, however, room for significant improvement in UV everywhere else and some specific rear privacy heat reduction.

Dealer install. Used a forklift. Snugtop HQ says it is 230 lbs. It would be hard to remove it by myself. I made sure to get roof tracks to get roof rack mount and crossbars later. Lazily researching ways for a garage pulley lift for future removal. But right now more focused on using it.

I will look at the law in the state it is registered in. If you are violating your home state law, then I will write it for also violating ours. While technically may be illegal here but legal where you are from, it is a dick move to cite someone passing through, so I never did.

I don't have any interior photos. Crystalline 70 on the windshield isn't very noticeable when looking out. I wear sunglasses still in the Tacoma with the 70.

Does the 3M Crystalline film look okay through polarized sun glasses?

I always find manufacturers specs funny actually. they claim 55% heat reduction from their stock windshield. get in a truck without tint on a hot summer day, above 90 degrees. put your hand on the inside of the windshield. it will probably burn you. then, put your hand on the inside of windshield that has been tinted with any form of ceramic film. you will definitely feel the difference. while I am not arguing with Toyota's specs, there is always room for improvement. I do not feel hardly any heat coming in my windshield on me, and mine is tinted with SunTek CIR70. same thing will probably be said about guys with Crystalline, or Llumar Air, or Wyncose, etc...its actually more funny that Toyota's "clear" glass has more heat rejection and UV reduction than their privacy glass. that seem completely backwards.

Got a quote from a pretty reputable place this morning for 3M crystalline 70% windshield and 40% front doors for $395. Not bad! I really wish they offered it in 80% because inspection shops here pass it. The crystalline 90% is a little lighter than I wanna go unfortunately.

what kind of film are they using that they can only charge $120 for the full truck? that is really inexpensive. I see you're in FL, so there are tint shops everywhere down there.
