No, you are talking about something more than convenience you are talking about a computer taking over a common sense action you can do for yourself.

In the winter you know it's important to have fluid so you should check it regularly. So regularly that if you forget one time it isn't going to make a difference.

It's one thing to enjoy the conveniences of modern life, it's another to expect everything to be tailored so you never have to get off your ass and do anything for yourself. Sorry but I think needing a light for wiper fluid crosses the line into incompetence.

    To answer the question:
You should be able to add anything that is found on any trim level of a vehicle yourself. The circuit and wires will be set up for it, you just need to fine the after market part.

Isn't this whole forum and basically every issue that's posted about a 1st world problem?

But.. you do understand that my Weathertech floor mats have a 1/8" gap on one side, right? Spaghetti noodles are 1/16" thick, so that means if I ever spill spaghetti noodles in my truck that they will go directly into my carpet and not get caught by the floor mats.

If that gap wasn't there, it wouldn't be an issue. Now it is an issue.

I'm just sitting here in my first gen spraying down my windshield until the low reservoir light comes on then refilling it. Any of you inferior gen owners wanna sit shotgun and experience how awesome it is to know when the fluid is low without having to pop the hood??

If Toyota did provide the low level light wonder if it would have the same issue with RainX pink fluid. It messes up the sensor in Rams. Turns the light on all the time. :D

Bottom line, I check my fluids on a regular basis so the light would be a non issue for me. As far as winter driving, I would know based on use if it was getting low. So time to pull over and fill up the reservoir.

imo, there are two many warning lights as it is in the newer trucks/vehicles.

If you looked at my post I pointed out Dodge has a problem with using some rainX wiper fluid.
Sorry you didn't see the sarcastic humor in the "ram thing" comment.

I beg to differ. I have a Ram, had a 2006 Tacoma sport I recently sold. Both had about the same amount of minor issues. Most likely will get a 2016 Tacoma sometime this year.

    But each to their own.

    Are floor mats a mod?
OP, did a little more research and the OBD does not support a sensor for the washer fluid on your truck, so u will need to mcguyver some other rig. Another thought came to mind. Yknow those RV waste tank sensors? They just adhere to the outside of the rotomolded tanks, have a wire for power and ground, and a small gauge that indicates full, 1/2 and almost empty. May be able hack it to work with some kind of dash light.

My dodges have never had issues with any rainx because they use a simple float sensor. New ones I guess use something different.

hey dont hate on our bagged liquids till you try them.

I'm rather surprised the american spec doesnt come with it but oh well. Go canada :D

Could even just keep a bottle in the truck and when you run out pull over and fill er up. Or just keep a routine, when you fill your gas fill the washer fluid? if you check your oil regularly do it then?
