Anyone noticing drops of water on the inside of your windshield? It was 55 here and damp yesterday then last night it got down to 28. I went out to my truck a little after 3 this afternoon and noticed several drops on the inside of my windshield.

    Nope.
Mine happened under similar conditions to yours, one time, just the other morning.
I was waiting to see if it became a habit.

This is the 2nd time I have noticed it on my truck. Sometimes I don't go anywhere for 2 to 3 days so it may be doing it more. 1st time it was foggy for 2 days just a damp dreary 2 days, I was hoping that would of been the last but.. Had a guy from north of the border tell me a couple weeks ago that all trucks/cars do this. I have never noticed it in any other truck I have owned. Kind of bummed out.

If there's humidity in the truck and it starts to cool outside condensation will form on the glass. I found it did this when I opened the truck on a cooler wet day but never started the truck so that it could warm up, then i shut the door and left the truck for a couple hours. If I start the truck and get air moving in the cabin I've never seen condensation on the inside of the windows. It was very little condensation in the first place, as soon as I got the air going through the vents it went away.

This is just weather related. It has nothing to do with seals, and everything to do with how humid and what temperature the air was before it cooled down vs how humid and what temp it ended up.

Cars that are less sealed up will sometimes equalize faster and avoid condensation, and also sometimes cars that have a greater amount of mass in the cab will handle changes differently.

There is no real way to know or prevent it since it is totally weather dependent and will usually occur where it cools down the fastest. Most of the time if you have a car that doesn't show, it is probably happening where you can't see it like up between the headliner and roof. It is essentially distilled water though, so not a rust promoter.

You can open your windows before going to bed a give it a quick chance to equalize the air if it really bugs you. Would likely help most of the time.

Wouldn't there be frost on the inside glass if I left them cracked? I'll just keep a roll of paper towels in the truck. Nothing prevents fogged up windshields better than clean water.

Possibly, if it is cold enough. Paper towels is way easier. I have a small towel in my Scion that I use for this. You wouldn't want to crack the windows anyway so much as just run them all the way down and let the air through for a minute. That way the temp/humidity difference is much less than having it all full of your hot breath etc. before going in. Still an OCD remedy. Towels is easiest.

    https://www.amazon.com/DampRid-FG50...d=1477000058&sr=8-1&keywords=damprid+4+lb+tub

Talked to a guy at DampRid this afternoon about designing a DampRid that will fit in the cup holders of cars/trucks. He told me what he uses in his truck is the 4 lb. tub in the above link. Just sits it in the floor board in his crew cab. These tubs are a little smaller than a gallon ice cream bucket so it won't tip over. Don't have to worry about it freezing during the winter because the contents are the same thing the state puts down on the highway during the winter. Also in the bottom of the tub is ground up corn cobs to absorb the liquid/brine. Picking one up at Walmart in the morning. Getting about the time of year I had an issue with condensation on the inside of my windshield.
