For some reason my switch to the wiper is not turning off. Even while it was working intermittently it automatically switches to the high speed and will not go down from high speed. I ended up just unplugging the harness connector everytime I need to use it.. please any advice or answers will help to determine what I should do to not be so ghetto

Most likely it would be a failure of that switch assembly. Sounds like you already have opened up access to it so I would just replace it.

Maybe someone can add the pin outs to check contact resistance on the switch, but there aren’t many things to cause that behavior.

Your profile shows a 2020. Are you already out of warranty?

    Oh look, another mod....

Mechanical components (such as this one), are covered by (I believe) 5yrs/50k miles. Have the dealership fix it or replace it.

Liza; this sounds like some sort of failure of the column switch assembly. If you have not exceeded the 36,000 miles on the truck, it should still have the 3/36 factory warranty which should cover getting this fixed.

    Good luck!!!

Bring to dealer, and even if out of warranty, bring it to them to diagnose (may cost you a fee). Electrical issues are tricky and may be the result of something else.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
It might help to note ANY mods done that touched (connected to) the truck's electrical system. Tacos are VERY sensitive to these kinds of mods.
You do know that full detent UP with the lever is the OFF position. There is the momentary contact a bit further UP to get a single swipe of the wipers.
