    Hi Jeff,

Quick question are these legal in CA? I just purchased and love them. Have not gone through the carwash yet to see if it leaks ;) but I am hopeful that it will hold up!!
Thanks for any insight with use in CA.

Winjet says they're DOT compliant and just read smoked are "offroad use" only

What are you doing for smoked front lights? Any recent mods? Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions for front smoked lights.

for my mods I'm working on bringing the sun with me at night with lighting

I love my smoked Winjet tail lights but I've been told that on a sunny day, people behind me can barely see when I brake :(

So these are the best taillights out right now? I think im going to buy. Would like to find them for less than $320 though that's a bit steep considering I need to buy new reverse bulbs too. Any recommendations for reverse bulbs?

What color do you think would look best on white? (with a black bumper). Would love to see pics of anyone with a white Tacoma installed

Why do you have to change the reverse bulbs? My lights work with the original bulbs.

So... my issue is a little more resolved than it was. Through the seller I bought mine from, they were able to get Winjet to send me replacements, with a return label for the leaking ones. We have had a LOT of rain in Texas the last week or two. I can tell you that since I put the replacements on, there is no moisture. Don't think there is a difference in the way they sealed them, it's just another set. BUT... the verdict is still out, as the first month and a half I had the set before, there were no leaks at all. Also, but the time I got the new lights, BOTH rear tails were leaking water into them. The drivers side one was bad enough it blew the tail light fuse in the truck one morning in the rain (and yes, the plug was inserted the correct way.. worked for two months fine until the water in the lights).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say the lights are no good, I love the way they look, they are super bright (except for the turn signals during the day) and they appear to be good quality. I may have just had the bad luck to get a defective set. If they leak again, I will let everyone know.

I will also say this. Winjet's warranty procedure is a PITA! You MUST go through your seller, they won't talk to you directly, at all.. I tried, many times. That being said, go through a reputable seller (in my case Tacoma Beast) and they will help you out. Tacoma Beast took care of me with no fuss at all, worked with Winjet on my belhalf, and I would recommend buying from them all day long!

Hey guys, I wanted to post us here and I will also be updating this info on my first post as well.

I am no longer working at Winjet any more. I have since moved on to another company (now doing suspension currently running a special on Fox coilovers www.ShockSurplus.com). But I will check in on this thread (whenever I remember) to try and help any one out or guide anyone on steps on how to get issues resolved. Or you can also feel free to shoot me a PM.

    Thank you

Lights are not DOT approved, but they are DOT compliant.

Smoked tail lights are for off-road use only

Just read every post in the thread, and I'd say good call.
These lights look the shit, unfortunately, it seems an unacceptable number of them ARE shit.
    Well planned, poorly executed...
