    New solution for 2023.

I bought a brand new set of these lights of Amazon for a brand new 23 taco and the fuse blew after 4 days.

I found a solid solution, though.
The problem was obviously the resistor. I disconnected it (just unplug it from the back on the back of the headlight and no more blown fuses. Of course, this introduced hyperflash though.

I bought a pair of 6ohm AutoEC resistors off Amazon for like $14 (Orange enclosure with cooling fins) and re-used the jack housing off the old resistors and re-crimped new pins on.
    Works great now. No hyperflashing.

I took the old resistors apart and they measured 7.8ohms, so in theory should have drawn less current than the new ones. Looking at the design of them though, they look really susceptible to being affected by condensation, which would explain why mine blew on the first rainy day we had.
The new ones look well sealed.

I am very skeptical that wiring up according to the instructions would make any difference; resistors have no polarity and I know mine were wired correctly and I still had the problem. Condensation-prone resistors is almost certainly the problem.
