So I’ve had my Winjet taillights installed for a little over a year now. Recently the brake light went out on the left side but not the right. I checked the connection on the taillight to the harness and it seems fine, im really hoping I don’t have to buy a new set of lights lol. Only thing that could possibly be connected to this issue is I had a brake override malfunction notification pop up last weekend. Figured it was due to the trailer I was hauling or something, truck wouldn’t start so I disconnected battery and it cleared it and started fine. But now the lights out lol, any suggestions?

Do you have a multimeter or your original tail lights? If you have either of those you can find out if its the tail light or the truck. Once you figure that part out it will be simple to fix.

I planned on trying a multimeter in the morning, if the harness has power I’m gonna try dielectric grease in the plug and see if it’s not just dried out for some reason. If nothing else I’ll plug in my stocks and buy a new set. Just hate to waste the money again ya know lol

Dried out? electricity likes it dry.

But instead of putting in grease, why not just plug in your old tail lights since you have them out? To check the wiring with a multimeter you need to remove the tail light, you can just plug in your old ones and set them on the tailgate and check. No need to get fancy here. Unplug new lights, plug in old lights. If the old ones work then you need to buy new tail lights, and since your old ones are already plugged in all you need to do is bolt them on and go about your day.
