Winter air in the spare

Around here we put water from Lake Tahoe in our radiators because it never freezes.

 

Had to google that. Learned something new. Thank you.

 

You’re all forgetting the most important thing of all, you need to winterize your brakes by replacing the brake fluid with antifreeze

Make sure you clamp the battery charger terminals to the frame for that added rust protection. Positive to the front, negative to the back. Then plug it in.

 

And don't torque those muffler bearings past the spec in the manual.

 

The Walmart near me has not had winter air in stock. Probably since prices are so low.

I don’t have any personal experience with all of these winterizing tips since I live in SoCal but I do have family in northern Nevada and my uncle swears by putting a lit match down the fuel filler neck to keep the gas in the tank from freezing. 2 matches are suggested for tanks above 25 gallons.

 

Throw hot water on your windshield to get rid of frost quick and easy.

I also recommend leaving your headlights on overnight to prevent them from cracking with severe cold

 

If you don’t have studdable tires, you can place nails generously around your front wheels for extra traction on icy days.

Yes and put the left over in the freezer so it doesn't go bad for next time you need boiling water

we all should be glad we grew up in the snow belt we know all of these tricks past on from are parents that keeps us safe in these critical times somthing we all can pass on to our children it may save there life some day thanks for all the responses and keep the windows down and air cond on when below zero to protect the tempured glass
