I am going to be in the Fresno area (or within a few hours drive) for work in a couple weeks and wanted to do a camping/off-roading trip for a couple days afterwards.

Anyone have suggestions? Not real familiar with the area as I'm from Washington.

i have been working on and off in a town called auberry about 1 hour north of Fresno. Haven't done much exploring but check out the toll house rock off road trail. It is really cool and super close to Fresno. Other than that you are about an hour away from kings canyon/sequoia national forest which are both my favorite parks ever with tons of dispersed camping and the largest trees in the world (giant sequoias). Or you can always drive a few hours further to Yosemite.
