I had not averaged my fuel mileage since the summer so I thought id average it for the winter..

What a joke...16 mpg? Really? I drive like grandpa ( Honestly) and never "put my foot in it" - Babied back and fourth to work..

My fuely shows 272 exactly when the "e light" came on,,so do the math. 16 even..and during fill up I had fuel coming back out of the fuel tube..

...In the summer I was doing 18 mpg consistently and as soon as the fall and winter approached Bam! Dropped like a rock

Maybe its time for tuneup too...

The only mod that has been done is a K & N filter..and if anything, that should help....tire pressure etc is correct...

I drive a 4.0 V6 and consistently getting 17-19mpg, tho I very rarely go above 65mph as I've noticed going above is a major detriment to mpg. Bought my taco in October so I've yet to see how summer mileage will play out.

16 is about my average for the last month or two. Wasn't really keeping track before that. Did notice a drop from summer just because I can't go as far between fills. Not sure how much though. Id guess about 2-3 MPG

i got 21 the other day in my double cab 2nd gen OP. that was from Raleigh to Mount Olive to Winston Salem, back to Raleigh. fuel light came on at around 330 miles i think it was. did the math after fill up and it was 20.88 or something like that. and i dont drive stupid, but i was making pretty good time on my way to Winston and i don't drive like a grandpa. . my trucks got like 103,000 miles on it and no mileage effecting mods too btw.

what kind of tires you rocking?

wow. where do you buy your gas from? i know i kept noted where i got the best gas mileage when i bought my truck. my habits of course were a factor to consider, but it just happened that every time i bought x stores gas i got better mileage than with y or z's or any other store. so i only try to buy gas from x store now. whether it really makes a difference i don't know.
