    Hey there Tacoma World,
Is there anyone else out there that is experiencing a fairly noticeable drop in MPG during the winter months due to winter blend? I can usually get 20+ in the summer with a light right foot and now it seems to be a struggle to get anything better than 17-18. Thanks!

Your truck also has to use more fuel to warm in the winter so more fuel is dumped into the engine as well. I usually loose about 1mpg during winter but I live in TX mostly mild winters.

You're not alone, I feel like I'm filling up constantly. I seriously think my old GM 6.0 got better mileage in the winter. I can barely squeeze 250 miles out of a tank.

With the v6 based on my ug I was sitting at an average of 17.4 mpg all summer long. I reset it for winter and am sitting at 15.8 as of now with winter gas/snow/warm up time.

Mine is down nearly 2mpg from the summer months, but I'm in WI so I was expecting about that much drop.

Rarely see a difference, in the winter with the gas blends, and the summer with the AC running. still manage to get about 320 miles per tank

With warm up times and such I'm usually at 15-17 mpg in winter and 18-20 in summer.

It's the temperature, not the gas blend. I ran a couple tanks back to back days a few weeks ago. One day it was in the 50s out, and the other in the teens and 20s. The colder day I got about 1.5mpg worse. Same kind of driving, same gas station, same pump.

Its a lot of things combined, but winter fuel does contain less energy per gallon. They don't change blend day by day, only twice a year, winter and not winter. In stop and go you will get between12 and 25% worse mileage.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Mileage always sucks in the winter, I just quit caring and checking it at some point. I usually get 12 to 13 combined and maybe 17 on the highway if I'm lucky.

Winter blend sucks for mileage. Great for cold starts. I'm talking about really cold starts, like what I'll have the next few days:eek:

I would kick a baby down the street for 17.
I am on par for 200 miles this tank for a city/highway mix.

I just filled up with 15 gal....trip meter said 180 miles. My "commute" to work is short enough that my truck doesn't get to temp, so that doesn't help

Just accept the fact that these trucks don't get good mileage and it won't bother you anymore. Once you get beyond this point you will love this truck.
