Anyone have suggestions for offroading in the front range around Boulder/Fort Collins areas in the winter? Tried to head out last weekend but all my go-to areas seem to be closed.

I use traildamage pretty extensively, I'm not seeing where they list if a trail is open in the winter. They list forest service roads, and then you can check the openings on the ranger district page, but just about everything I hit in the summer seems to be closed in the winter.

Bunce School keeps a fair amount of trail open. Some of the harder stuff in the Ironclads was open a few weeks ago when I wheeled/camped up there. Seven Mile was open up in Rustic 3 weeks ago but winching was required to get out of one of the icy creeks so I'm not sure how far I could've gone since I was solo. I'll come with and we can get them both stuck. Its more fun that way.

Took a quick trip to Bunce yesterday. I can't believe I've never been up there before! Got stuck in a snow bank at one point and had to winch out. Fun stuff!

It's a really fun spot. Glad you liked it. You'll be super stoked when the snow melts and you can do the T33A trail up there.

I always manage to do something unecessary and break out the winch while there's snow up there.

I think a little ways up the T33A trail is where we got stuck :ballchain:
