Lol, you just have to dress accordingly. I'll admit the -20 shit sucks. But generally speaking, 10-25* with snow is perfect!!! You get used to it quickly, in the fall I always seem to get chilled easier and then by winter I'm acclimated to the cold.

Nothing better than skiing down in the sun on a nice crisp 10* day! Snowshoeing or snowmobiling too! A lot of people complain up here about it but that's because they don't do anything in the winter.

Snowmobiling is fantastic! I patrol at work on sleds and there are 1000's of miles of trails. Its nice being up in the middle of the mountains cruising the trails. I spend my off time skiing so I don't have a sled but I do plenty of it at work :D

it sucks. I hate seeing it. But the weather is not giving me a break to hit the carwash. Its either way to cold and it will freeze solid, or we have another storm and they just dump crap on the roads again. Oh well maybe some day they will be replacing my frame.....

You can do all the same shit in winter but just have to dress a bit warmer!
Again, people complain because they don't do a thing ALL winter.

They have some dog sled ride/tours on Mirror Lake in Lake Placid. Pretty cool!
Snowshoeing is really cool too, it's neat to see how different the trails an mts look in the winter than summer time! Good ice fishing! Great skiing! Awesome driving fun!

    Want to move yet? ;)

San Diego County doesn't have two of those problems. You're probably thinking of L.A. / Orange / Riverside Counties to the North.

It can certainly get hot in the summer in San Diego County. However the county is diverse. It has Ocean, Mountains (6K in elevation) and desert. So temperatures can vary widely depending on location.

I live in a great place, La Mesa, Jewel of the Hills. I have ocean 20 minutes from my home to go swim in.

Here is a picture of my favorite beach, La Jolla in February.

The worst thing about S.D. is the cost of living. So god damn expensive. Rent is about $2K/mo. for 1800 sq. ft. 3-bedroom house.

Don't forget the wildfires and mudslides! I'll just say this, no place is perfect especially for everybody. Me I just like having all 4 seasons.

Looks like a great place to visit though.

Same, I love the change of seasons. I love winter and snow and skiing but I also love being out on the boat!! I couldn't live in an area that was one or the other. I could however live in a place where I could do both!!

But F that crazy humid 100* crap. mid 70's is perfect

x2 I keep asking my wife if we can go live in mnts. After a recent trip through Cuyamaca mountains a few weeks ago, she said maybe in retirement. I hate it when she gives me some hope. :annoyed: :(

They say that variety is the spice of life. I too enjoy the change in seasons, unfortunately I usually have to drive to somewhere to experience the weather change though.

Great place to visit! Very welcoming.

The wildfires of 2003, and 2007 were devastating to the back country and east county communities. The public and land managers are wising up though... They're doing more frequent prescribed / controlled burns to thin places out. They're finally realizing that natural fires from lightening are kind of important. :D

Yup. F high heat and humidity.

I've taken a few trips to Florida in summer and I can't believe the humidity and heat. For reasons I can not explain, and do not understand, my wife likes the humidity. It makes me want to :violent:

I won't tell how much I used to pay for my 1 bedroom condo. :anonymous: x2!

And for what its worth it was cold the last two mornings in San Diego, it was 46F and 48F the last two mornings I woke up.
