Any skiers or boarders out there? Post your home hill, favorite destination, and setup. Let's keep this a hate-free thread.

    • 7 Springs Mountain Resort - Champion, PA
    • Jackson Hole MR - Jackson, WY
    • 177cm Nordica Enforcer with Marker Jesters and some Dalbello PX12 Carbons
It's getting cold, windshields are frosting and I am getting stoked for another white season! I plan on taking 10 days to drive my Tacoma and sticks out west in late December. I've got a friend at JHMR and will branch out from there.

Sweet locale and setup, TacoCo. I want to try out my buddy's alpine board and take some tele lessons this year...

I'm still learning to tele, so I'm not very good yet, but I got a sweet deal on the skis at the local ski swap last year, and I have an unrestricted 5 mountain pass this season, so I'm most likely going to tele everyday that I get up this year. Snowboarding is a lot of fun, but I need to get more exercise out of my days on the mountain... Telemarking definitely does the job.

I ski Bolton Valley, Smugglers Notch and Jay Peak, all nice little mountains in Vt. This year I got an unrestricted season's pass to BV since they give an awesome military discount @ 50% off! Last year they opened a new Burton Terrain park (Burton is based in Burlington, Vt.) though I'm not a boarder, but I really like their night skiing and head up 4-5 times a week. My setup is a pair of Rossy Bandits.

When I'm not skiing, I'm sledding on my 06 Polaris 600 HO. Vermont has some beautiful groomed trails, over 6,000 miles worth according to the Vermont Association of Snowmobile Travelers. Can't wait for the snow to fly!

-Never really had a permanent home hill. Boarded all over New Mexico and some in Colorado. I am up in Alaska now so my hills are Hilltop and Alyeska.

-Favorite spot is Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico. It would be way better if it got more snow but it is a great place. I always wanted to go to Vail, CO but my dream would be to board in New Zealand.

-Setup right now is 158 Forum Recon with Flux Bindings. Boots are Forum too but I am getting new ones this year. Probably going to go with Vans or DC.

xedge, we are considering Jay Peak for our winter group trip with about 8 guys. Have you heard of Grandpa Grunt's? I work at our local hill and a colleague said that was the way to go.

I have not but that doesn't mean anything :p j/k. When I go, its a day trip. It's close to the Canadien border & gets a lot of snow due to the geography. The amount of natural snow they get up there is incredible, lots of glades & woods skiing if your into that. They get a lot of bus traffic from canada. Most of the college students ski Smugglers, Mad River Glen, Sugarbush since its a haul up to Jay from Burlington & B-Town is where all the night life is (UVM, Champlain, St. Mikes, CCV, VT Tech, etc). I'm not sure what the scene is up there other than good skiing.

Yeah I love it, they've improved the mountain considerably, everybody goes to the more popular places....Killington, Stratton, Stowe, Smuggs, Sugarbush. BV is a great deal & has great skiing in my book & minimal lines.

The mountain opens Wednesday and we got 30inches Monday night and its still snowing in town and up on the hill. So maybe I'll get to ski some powder on opening day which would be crazy!!!
