    Hey guys

having some confusion here regarding the part numbers for the wiper arm nut. I ordered 90182-A0017 and what I got does not screw down completely. I have one of the originals and that works but these others don’t seem to screw in completely. I’ll post a pic of each. The nut that works looks like the nut and washer are all one piece. The nut that does not work looks like the nut and washer are separated.

    appreciate the assistance.

    Mark

Almost looks like the threads are dorked on the new nut (just to left of the "D" you typed). Can you find a bolt with same same thread and size to see if that but can screw all the way on? Or post a better picture of the nut where we can see the threads better.

I believe the dot and the dash 180 degrees out are markings for class 6 metric nuts.

You may have a point, though. I wonder if that protrusion on the nut is a locking mechanism but never seen one like that.

Jam nuts are often marked like that, and would act like you are describing, tough to thread on at some point

ETA: distorted thread nut is the official name I believe

Is there something wrong with the originals if not just use them.

This^^ Sometimes, these replacements are 'universal' and will fit the splined portion of the shaft, but are threaded different. Try your original nut and see how it pulls down.

Take your good nut, go to a good hardware store, find the bolt it threads on and then find another nut that fits on that bolt also. Don't make the mistake of trying to fit a course thread nut onto a fine thread bolt, especially if it wankers the threads on the wiper arm bolt, that could go from cheap fix to expensive fix really quickly.
