Cleaned the snow off the windshield, missed the ice block at the base of the arm. Arm did about 3/4 of a stroke and stopped. Stripped the arm free...

So I've pulled the 14mm nut and wiggling on the arm won't free it up, doesn't come off the post.

Any suggestions on how to get the arm off? I have a limited set of tools as I am visiting in the PNW and not at home.

Of course it's the driver's side and it's raining or snowing everyday here.

Press down on the arm towards the windshield, it will come off.

I don't use my puller on front Toyota wiper arms. Only the rears need it.

Well, that worked. Sprayed some Deep Creep, posted on TW, went back outside and wiggled some more (including pressing on the arm towards the windshield) and it popped right off.

Yep, it's stripped! Off to the local Toyota Dealer as it's not raining or snowing now but it will tonight & tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions!

Yay! The local Dealer doesn't have one, can get it, like, next Friday. o_Oo_O:annoyed:

So I'm looking for a temp fix. Thinking maybe using a rubber washer under the nut? Maybe a thin one on the post? Maybe both? This only needs to last a couple of days, early next week I'll be driving back to Los Angeles and will be able to stop at several dealerships to see if they have one in stock.

Post up where you are. Maybe you’ll get lucky to find someone to loan you theirs to get you home. You’ll need to work out the details between each other. Pinky promise or some sort of equal value temporary trade or whatever.

Doing some sort of temporary rubber band and spit repair might put you in a bad situation, stuck somewhere after it fell off.

There’s something called rain shield or rain guard you put on the windshield and rain is supposed to magically fall off. I’ve never tried it so I couldn’t say if it’s a good idea or not.

Can you swap the passenger side? At least be able to see to drive? I've never taken mine off to know if they're interchangeable.

I put a rubber washer on it. Seems to be doing fine as a temp fix.

Just to wrap this up, the rubber gasket worked for the 900 mile trip home through snow and rain. Was pretty cautious, never turned the wipers on high.

Looked up the arms and evidently they are different as they have different part numbers for a 2015.

Windshield Wiper Arm (Left, Front) #85221-04030

Windshield Wiper Arm (Right, Front) #85211-04030

Glad it worked. Rain x is what I was thinking of.
