dylan- are you driving a lot at night? I use dura gloss rain repel and it rains hard I dont need wipers at all. My issue seems to be at night now where it the wipers streak just enough in a soft rain where its really really hard to see. do you have this issue at night?

Alex- I can't remember the last time I had to drive at night with rain. I think I could manage it, unless I thought it was unsafe. But yeah I think it's been a while since I've seen rain at night. I'll look into your product though!

Sold, but going to by another

Last time I went for my 08'; just the blade refills were like $30.00!!! I think I was robbed. Will try another dealer next. Good rubber though. Tried buying Michelin, Rain-X, etc... but the Toyota's seem to last the longest in my opinion

I have got refills at Toyota and also at Honda for the minivan, but they were more expensive than new assemblies from Walmart. I have tried almost all the brands at Walmart, except for the no-name real cheap stuff. I have found that it does not really make a difference, the Michelins, Rain-X, Bosch, etc all last about 1 year. I just replace them at the beginning of the rain season (July) and I get the mid-priced ones, about $8 to $12 a piece. Replacing the inserts vs replacing the assemblies take about the same time, so if the assemblies are the same price as the inserts, then I am good with that (and my new frames are nice and shiny vs. the faded old ones if just do the inserts)

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Its another marketing scheme to make someone richer, blades are more money than refills so do the math lol. Speaking of wiper blades, I need to get some winter blades because the factory ones suck for ice and snow.

Amazon sells refills. I had to do a bit of searching on the Amazon website to find them. I've bought refills for my Tacoma and Nissan.

The days of the 2 dollar and fifdy cent refilles is no more.

I have tried all those fancy blades but they do not last any longer. I just get a new set of the cheapo's from the auto parts store every first snow in the fall.

So I have both my refills in and they both seem to chatter at the bottom of the blade. Did I get something that should be so simple wrong?

This happened to me when I put in some crummy Bosch blades. I think it is because the rubber is too stiff for the amount of down pressure the wipers apply?

    None yet! It's new!
Gotta tell you... Rain-X doesn't need to go on every month. It will last a LONG, long time with just one application.

I tried to remove Rain-X once (different vehicle) and couldn't get it off... I called the factory in Scottsdale. They said the only thing that will get it off is an abrasive polish. Rain-X will also make dings and cracks harder to repair, not that it matters.

I only use Rain-X on mirrors and windows other than the windshield, like side and back windows. Glass stays cleaner much longer with Rain-X on it, but I've found with some vehicles, that when you have to use the wipers, they don't like Rain-X.... some tend to jerk a lot, especially if it's a long wiper arm. One place that it really helps is glass headlight lenses, if you have a vehicle with them.

Sorry... don't mean to steal the thread.... back to wiper refills:

I've bought refills straight from the Toyota parts counter with no problem. They're good refills too - better than most crappy ones you find at auto parts stores where they force you to buy the whole stinkin' wiper arm.

Rain X window wash will eliminate the chattering. Your blades will last twice as long too.
