not happy with the wally world Michelins blades. so i picked up a set of lexus refills from flea bay for $15 shipped.

local stealership wanted $25 + tax for refills but do not stock refills and wanted $50 for the complete asy of which they do stock.

the lexus refills have the same marking as my oems and fit perfectly.

I wonder if it's a Walmart thing. I've been using Bosch Icons for years, but this last set I bought from Walmart streak like crazy. So much for saving a few dollars.

cough a few more buck and invest in a set of PIAA wipers. I've had a set on my other cars for 4 years same blades. Bought a set of the Si-techs for the truck when I got it in back in 11/13. Still works like new. They're silicone similar to the rainx wipers that constantly leave a nice invisible layer of silicone on the windshield. This makes the water bead up and blow away so you don't even need to use them on highway speeds.
The crappy costco michelin ones are just crappy rubber and water just sheets making vision blurry.
I've had rainx and bosch also, but PIAA lasts much longer

maybe - along with the terrible lack of wiping capability, skipping and dancing on the windshield - the finished faded and turned to chalk <6mos.

the oem refills are nice and work great - just like when i drove her off the lot.

p.s. i found a set of OEM refills on fleabay for $14.52 shipped

thanks - i'll give the PIAA a try down the road.

i wanted to try the refills since the blades were <24 mos old. the originals were fine except the stealership found a very slight tear on the tip of the passenger side during the 20K mile service. now that i'm doing all my own service i want to see if the refills last longer without the stealership's wiper inspection.

and yea - i love rainx - been using it since the late 70's. i still use it but it didn't take me long to figure out that any car wax will give similar performance.

yeah for sure. rainx is pretty good, just didnt last long for me here in Cali. The sun cracked them too soon and they seemed to leave that line of gunk where it stops in the middle of the windshield.
Hard to dish our 25-30 bux for a wiper but just dont put the piaa sticker on there..dont want it stolen

I found the same thing with my most recent icons purchased from Walmart. They streak like crazy. Used them for years with no problem until this last set from wal mart. My bro just got a set of trico hingeless and they're great. I think I'm done with the icons and will go that route next.
