I use OEM. Have you tried Aquapel on the windshield? It's like RainX but last much longer and is easier to buff out.

My favorite are the inexpensive ones from Les Schwab. Around $20 bucks and they put them on for you. They are very quiet blades and do an awesome job with the rain up here in the Pacific northwest.

I like PIAA Super Silicone. Look on Ebay till you find a good price, then refills aren't too expensive every year after.

They are blades and all, just remove and replace. I have 4 sets, 2 for each vehicle ready to put on. I have the Anco Rainy Day wiper on now, and it preforms just like a cheap wiper would, not fully cleaning on each stroke. Some of that I attribute to the streak free rinse at the car wash. The Bosch direct connect wipers are next. Anyway, it's a cheap way to try out different wipers.

I'm starting to think the cheap and replace often is the best choice. There's a lot of options, and OEM were my favorite. So hopefully I can find a cheap pair that works great

OEM or Bosch Icons; currently using Icons. Nothing is going to last long against mud though and it'll scratch your winshield.

Depending on how old your windshield is and your driving environment (i.e. sandy/desert, living near a coal burning power plant, etc.), the glass gets small pitting and scratches and the wipers, even new blades, won't work as well and the windshield won't look as clean.

That's true, I work at a Toyota plant/office in the Midwest, but ever since I got these rain x.... They suck. Gonna go OEM

    Bosch Icon.

I don't remember how often I replace them but it's been over a year. Maybe two?

The best pair I've ever had were OEM Toyota. The WORST pair I've ever owned are the OEM Toyota blades I have on the truck right now. 4th pair....Other 3 were all good. This pair is crap. Not sure why, but they're crap. I'll be grabbing a new pair next trip to Toyota dealer. If they aren't OK, last time....They ain't cheap.

I am also in the cheap and replace more often camp. Ice does tear them all up about the same. I avoid using them on ice but there is only so much you can reasonably do about it. If I lived somewhere with minimal ice I might go for more expensive ones.

Gotta keep the windshield clean to let the wipers do their job. Build up on the glass and the wipers won't work efficiently.

I manage a whole fleet of vans at work. Tried the Icons and found them noisy / streaky. Maybe I got a bad batch? After many trials I have settled on Trico Neoform. Not cheap but Advance Auto Parts often runs buy 1 get one 1/2 off sale. They are reasonable at that price. I will get a solid 18 months out of a pair even with the New York winter. They are silent and wipe cleanly.

I just put some new ones in at the start of the winter. Not convinced they are going to hold up well.
I saved the OEM ones, so I can refill them if I need to.
    Thanks Rick.
