Wipers on my 2 year old/24,000 mile '18 TRD Sport are originals, working great and show no sign of needing replacement anytime soon.

I've cleaned the windshield with everything short of an angle-grinder and course cup brush; I clean the blades themselves weekly at most. My current set, albeit on the inexpensive side, started chattering and streaking with <30 minutes of use. Since I have to go into the *Ugh* stealership for the fuel pump recall, I guess I'll pick up some new wipers & spare blades and see how that goes. Thanks all!

use rain x on your windshield, it will make you use your wipers less and when you do need them, they glide right over the glass, no streaking. Thats how I have done for years on all my vehicles and only have to replace my wipers every 2 to 3 years. As a matter of fact, I also own a 2016 car that has the original wipers on it. I drove it today in the rain, no problems. I have not had to replace my wipers yet on my 19 tacoma which is now a year and a half old. My buddy on his vehicles, he always has wiper troubles, but he drives through a car wash. My vehicles are always hand washed, something to think about.

I never have issues with my wipers. I use rain-x on all glass surfaces and factory blades. Granted, both of my vehicles are parked in the garage.

I agree with the guys above. Rain-x. I never use my wipers. It’s a decent hydrophobic Treatment, but you need to apply it every couple of weeks. It’s like a crack addition without the nasty side effects.

I've had one Bosch winter blade and one Rain-X winter blade on my windshield since last December, I've been doing a comparison. The Bosch blade is a little better, the Rain-X is silicone and treated but the clip that holds it to the wiper arm often pops up.

Maybe the windshield is warped just a little from the factory to cause that, you never know. Try taking it to a glass shop and find out, Good Luck $.02

FWIW, I've tried Rain-X products and hate them with a passion; I've found they leave huge streaks, whether it's the Rain-X solution, or the wipers... as far as the windshield being mis-shapen, I'd considered that, but if it was, I wouldn't expect to fit properly and there to be leaks everywhere...

I have used rain-x wipes in the past, and I would run them over the blades as well. I think I got nearly 3 years out of a set once just by doing that. I think the rain-x formula was treating the wiper rubber somehow.

Wiper life and effectiveness can be improved greatly just by cleaning the dirt and grease off of them. It's amazing how nasty they get in a short amount of time.

FWIW, just about to pass 2 years / 26k miles, still on OEM blades. Will replace soon though.

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
Rain-X liquid for the windshield AFTER cleaning the windshield. Follow the bottle instructions. Be sure to get the "glass" formula.

Been using this product for many years, never had a streaked windshield that was caused by the product. Occasionally, I do a poor job on application causing streaks. Evident by the swirl marks matching my wiping pattern. I apply 2-3 times each year on each vehicle.

I replace the wiper blades yearly with the blade/frame combination. It is a 5 minute job. I live in IA maintaining 3 vehicles thru all sorts of extreme weather and temperatures. 2 of the 3 vehicles sit outside.

I have even tried the Rain-X formula for plastic on motorcycle helmet visor.

The stuff helps so much to allow water to bead and flow off the visor and windshields.

My Tundra ate wipers as well. In Canada I think it's the rubber compound that's really soft and they wear quickly.

Best wipers I've ever used are Rain-x Quantum. They're more expensive, but I usually get a year out of them at least. They have a spoiler which keeps them attached to the windshield, especially at highway speeds.

From Bosch site: "Driver side always has an “A” part number. Passenger side can have an “A” or “B” part number depending on the vehicle. Blades with a “B” part number have a greater curvature specifically designed to wrap around the passenger side window for greater visibility and clarity."

Bosch Icons are a good example:
    Driver side: 22A
    Passenger side: 20B

They’re pricey.... however, they last and perform very well.

Check your wiper arms, the metal arms that the wiper frames hook into, especially if you've had windshield work done. Was in a local parts store (will leave un-named) and a guy who had just bought a new set of wiper blades came back in and said to the girl who sold them to him that they were just like the old ones and not covering the entire area of the windshield, missing the top and bottom of the arc on drivers and passenger sides. She told him to use them because they had to break in (???)... I followed him out and told him that wiper blades do NOT have to be broken in, looked at the arms and saw they were bent away from the windshield. Asked him if it was a new piece of glass and he said it was replaced that morning. They had bent the arms away from the windshield to get more room to work, I guess. As I was bending them back, the manager came out to look and said that he had overheard the girl and wanted to see what the cause was and that the girl was wrong about them breaking in. A little bend and they were good as new. Manager went back in and corrected the girl, who wasn't there for too much longer.
