Which wipers on your 3rd gen do you like? Make, model, size? Im in snow country. Current bosch beam style (forget model) work ok but still have some streaking.
I used to use Anco winter on my 2000 silverado. Worked like magic.
    Every windshield deff tho.
    Thanks

The stock blades have been working fine for me all through the winter season. I just make sure to clean it off at each fill up.

stock where terrible! I then got some bosch and were pretty good and lasted a good while but they did streak on the bottom left corner. i picked up a pair of Goodyear from costco and that was a bad idea no bueno! i learned that rain-x makes any blades move smooth but only last few days. im interested in any better options otherwise i will be going back to Bosch!

Don't know who makes Toyota supplied blades, or Mazda.

But on my '96 and '04 I tried a bit of everything. OE lasted 2x as long as any aftermarket blade, and aftermarket cost more.

Granted, no snow or ice. However we do have monsoons and withering sun.

If your OE blade is not working correctly I'd wonder about the condition of the windshield and the rubber on the blade.

Scrubbing the glass with Bar Keepers friend (rinsed well of course) will move all road residuals, old soap, wax spillage, etc etc and give a great surface to start with.

Periodic hand wash of the blade, followed by wiping with alcohol wipes will have them as clean a possible. Even cheap blades will work fine for a few weeks after being treated like this.

the pre 2004 used an OEM rubber refill in a nice Toyota packaging and were the best, now they are selling the complete wiper beam as opposed to the rubber insert, I just bought online from a Toyota dealer 2 rubber only refills for my 2nd gen and they came with no packaging or Toyota markings just the refill, they look like the same quality as the Chinese or Thailand cut to fit types I had previously used for $2.00

The best are the Toyota ones...

Not the Hybrids that come with the truck, but if you go to the parts counter and ask for the winter blades, they are amazing... Even for all year round..

    I love them..

I put them on everything because they last forever

Denzo makes them. Same as the spark plugs in most Toyota’s I believe. Typically pretty high quality parts. From what I can tell.

My OEM blades are streaking like crazy at 300 miles. I literally got to the dealership while my truck was still wrapped in the white protectant sitting on the transport truck. Its not like it sat on the lot for a couple months. I'll be be replacing with some Bosch icon's tonight.

The stock blades have worked really well for me, but I also use the rain-x bug spray in my washer fluid, and using that I think has helped a lot with maintaining good wipers. Have had the truck 18 months and just now thinking about replacing wiper blades...
