You sure that's pollen. Looks more like a fanboy was on the service floor when found out his crankshaft position sensor failed and his rear end needed to be replaced.

Ran into this issue within the first 5 days of owning the truck..had the windows open for a bit during a trail drive near Sedona. Winds were gusting at times, at the end of the day had a fine red silt over everything. The gauge cluster mars super easy.

Be careful with compressed air. You'll notice there is a gap opening on where you reset the trip meter. I managed to blow dust in there and now there is a little bit of dust inside.

Grab one of those high quality phone screen covers. Cut it to dimension and put it on. No scratches.

I found that the cleaner wipe that comes with a cellphone screen protector does pretty good just lightly rubbing on it.

In theory--but I imagine a huge ugly looking mess in reality.

Yeah mine's scratched too but how else to get the dust off? I've tried a moist microfiber cloth and no difference for me. I guess I can use my SwirlX and try to buff some of that out.

Mine was scratched to hell within a few weeks.
I don't remember ever wiping it or anything either.

Hell, mine was scratched at mile 17 when I picked it up. Thought it was just glare showing superficial scratches so I let it ride. Eff

this is the second thing that irks me. the speedo registers 140mph. the electronic cut off is 111mph (at least for the 4 banger from what i can tell).... if toyota was trying to pinch pennies give me a better piece of plastic, put a dust grommet around the odo stick, and get those cents back by having the speedo only go to 115..

I use Novus #1 with a microfibre cloth. So far no scratches. I had it in the garage already and thought I'd give it a try based on concerns written here. IMG_6558.jpg
