I consistently have to replace the USB to USB-C in my truck and sometimes it does and doesn't work. Now this cord has been going strong for a few months but now if I barely touch the cord it will drop connection and charging, and I loose android auto.

Now I have had three different phones and this has happened with every single one, each phone I've ended up buying and buying replacement cords..

When I wiggle the cord, port side of the phone it drops connection, and when I wiggle the USB in the truck port, it will drop connection.

Is this little USB port potentially the culprit? I have tried the Motorola wireless Android Auto, it was fantastic but suffered the same Issues I'm assuming and eventually the Motorola box just completely stopped working so I had to refund it.

I understand things wear down after 50,000 miles but, it's incredibly infuriating when I'm driving and using my map for navigation, and I have to take my eyes of the road and unplug and plug in my phone several times during a long road trip.

If anyone has delt with this issue and resolved it, I'm all ears. I'm debating on replacing the USB port itself with a USB C type port, if able.

I've had the same problem ever since I bought the truck. Unfortunately my only solution is a new cable every 10-12 months. I just switched to a wireless solution and the last cable has been doing well. I only get drop outs at certain places around town so I assume it's a wifi issue rather than cable issue

My wireless adapter was great when it worked, other times it just refused to connect. Wish I could have kept that.

Based on my experience so far, I can recommend AAWireless. It has the option to change WiFi channel to help with random dropouts

I have been having similar problems but i know its not my USB cable or phone. I have made a few posts about it and it definitely seems rare, but its super annoying!

my current state is that Toyota replaced the head unit and it still didn't work. i suggested we replace the harness in between the headunit and the USB port, that's what i'm going to try on Wednesday!

I will update this thread if replacing that part fixes it!

My USB port in my '23 will charge my phone but the Android Auto is no longer working. I tried swapping out the USB port and different cords with no success. Is there a way to connect Android Auto wirelessly?
    Thanks!

I've been using version 1.0 of this for 6 months and have great luck. It looks like they have moved onto version 2.0 but could be worth a try. The wireless adapters also pop up in the BST from time to time.
