Hard to tell from the pictures, is the non-charger piece flat, or does it have some depth to it?
If it is deeper than the charger piece I am making the change.

Get a small GMRS with a remote Mike- the radio body fits behind the head unit.

I want to put my aircraft altimeter in there, so more room would be nice.

I just want to delete this whole charging thing.. get the button slot back (So I can put my redarc there)

Then I gotta figure out how to put an opened up 2m/440 Amateur radio in there. (Still dont know what overlanders use in Ohio GRMS Im guessing?)

I pulled the switch for mine.
Is there a dedicated fuse for the charger?

    uhhhh....dog fur?
Okay, I want to remove the dumb charger functionality on my truck, but really, I jsut want the switch blank to be opened up for other use.
I need to go into the center console to put in my aux outlet and 400w module already so I was thinking that when I do that can I just yank the wires from the pad and then remove the switch outright? Would that kill the functionality of the thing? I noted in this thread that there is a potential it might be energized all the time so would want to make a safe situation.
    Thoughts?
No bubbling on my pad, I just do not have a wireless charging phone and have a Dash bar instead as well.
    Thanks!

Unplug the harness at the switch and unplug the connector at the charging pad, then all bases are covered.

I just completed the wireless charger delete since there was a pretty strong case to do so including: freeing up the spot for another switch, removing a poorly functioning part from the truck, more interior storage, the potential to sell the intact charger for profit, and (temporarily) satisfying the endless desire to tinker :sawzall:

The swap took about 30 minutes and required a phillips head screwdriver and a 10mm socket for the 2 bolts in the center console box. I got the non-charger tray for auto transmission trucks (58810-04010-C0) for $91 and will update this post if I'm able to sell the wireless charger for anything. If I can get $91 I'll be happy, but I'm going to try for more since @yerblues noted his success earlier in this thread.

Did you receive just the little cubby or did it also provide the trim around it? Googling that part number brings up what looks like both as one assembly.

    It came as both pieces.

Mine isn't bulging, but it also doesn't work.

What are people putting there instead? I mean, besides just having it become a cubby. Is there anything cool to do with it?

@WaitingOnMyR1T is correct, came as both pieces, I only swapped the cubby in because my current tunnel cover has custom drill holes where I mounted a PA system. Going to try to sell the unused tunnel cover and recoup some funds

You could put a CB or GMRS radio in that spot. and if you size it correctly (or 3d print a surround) you can ditch the wireless charger without even getting the cubby replacement

I’m trying to see if anyone has mounted a switch pros or s pod there. That’s what I want to do with it. I have buddies that like to mess around with CAD and 3D printers so I might ask what their recommendation is.
