I had thought about this too (S7), until I realized that I'd need my phone upright, and that fast charge is a lot quicker wired than wireless fast charge. The setup I went with is here

The wireless charger on my 19 is meh at best. Fine if you phone is already at 85% and you're on a long trip to slowly charge it up while listening to music n stuff but it's still very slow and makes the phone feel like it was floating in lava for 40min

Unfortunately it doesn't work as well as I had hoped (without more modification). The airflow is poor so a fan doesn't help at all and after it heats up the wireless charging stops. The only solution I can come up with would would be to cut out a hole and place a small computer fan in the side to draw air in/out of the center at the kick panel (which would look horrible) or route an AC vent to blow directly on the wireless charger from underneath it. The issue with the latter is during winter when I blast the heater I don't know if it would be effective.

Another alternative would be for me, or someone else, to find a good quality wireless fast charger that doesn't require a fan. I think by Samsung adding a fan helps keep not only the phone at a lower temp but also the electrical components as well. But there would still be the issue of the phone overheating since the charger is essentially located in a void.

    Any ideas?

Quickest fix is to turn your phone off when charging or in airplane mode. I prefer off. Avoids heat up, charges tad bit quicker but overall gets the job done without modifying it

I've noticed that phone placement is critical, and even a small difference in location can affect the charging ability.

My Note10 charges perfectly, and doesn't get hot, when I place the phone top-end towards passenger, and at the front and slightly right-center on the pad. It takes some trial and error, but really it's just a matter of lining up the charging coils on the pad to your phone's wireless charging hardware.

Its really easy actually. If you go to ATT or whatever provider you have and tell them you want to swap your samsung for an iPhone they'll even put it in the case for you. Super easy.

I like actually owning my phone and having the ability to root it and not using user restricted, I'm sorry, "user-friendly" devices.:notsure:

It is easy, I have made a mount that replaced the guts. The issue is heat. Newer wireless charging devices use a fan to keep the inductive coils cool. There is no airflow when installed without further modification.

androids are definitely not bad devices. I used to use one for my personal device. I went back to iPhone because of the ecosystem and now that there are widgets, I see no reason to get an android besides price. Plus CarPlay is a hell of a lot better than android auto. I don’t really understand shitting on people for their choice of operating system on a public forum. Of course I roast my friend in our group chat who uses one for absolutely no reason that you described above.

The issue I think is it's not strong enough to effectively wirelessly charge today's cell phones. Most cell phones do some form of "fast" wireless charging, and the taco charger is not capable of that so the charge is weak.
