Wiring Backup Camera and DIR Mods Together

Has anyone here, or elsewhere, wired these two mods together such that the Lic Plate Light DIR is triggered by the Anytime Backup Camera switch? If so, how did you do it?

I figured there’s nothing new under the 3rd gen sun. Guess I’ll be the first. Wish me luck.

 

Never even thought about it......

 

Put a diode on the existing license plate hot wire and add another with diode from the backup lights. Edit - each diode prevents the wire it’s on from being hot when the other wire is active.oops, confused backup camera with reverse lights. Depending on how you trigger the camera add a wire & diode from the relay to the plate lights and a diode on the lights wire.
