Hello all, I promise I’ve tried to find a thread that has answered my question but, I was unsuccessful. I’m trying to install the DD SS3 Fog Kit with the amber backlight and I’m having trouble deciding which fuse to insert an add a fuse since I don’t want to tap into my DRL wiring and make anything permanent wiring wise on my truck. If anyone has done this this way any guidance would be appreciated.

Could you not just tap into the DRL fuse location with a fuse tap? I tapped into my headlights with an add a fuse for my auxbeam as I don’t use the lights I’ve added without the headlights. If I add things I’ll use with the lights off I’ll find another fuse to tap.

Actually no because for whatever reason the DRL fuse in the engine bay is a constant 12V signal, not just while the ignition or DRLs are on. I used this for my fog backlights: https://fbchs.square.site/product/t...true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=4

Hood Struts, My version Fogs always ON, Map & Overhead Light Mod,
With the "FBC" harness, you could make the back lights turn signals also, alternate pattern to headlight turn signals.

For sure. I tried that myself and quickly realized there wasn’t any fuses I could tap for DRL signal. The harness or tap off of the headlight apparently is the only way. Still not really sure why DRL has constant power, low and high beam fuses don’t. Unless it’s like the bed light power and uses the ECU to ground it out….

Fuse is on battery power but there's a relay that's controlled by the Main Body ECU so they only turn on under certain conditions (ignition on, parking brake not engaged, etc.).
Not on the ground/negative side, that's really only seen in the taco when PWM comes into play for a fade effect (although may be used elsewhere for unrelated purpose, just haven't noticed).
