The oem Taco horn is a wimp IMO, but I hardly ever use it. But when I did, it was to awake a texting driver drifting into my lane at over 70+ and I barely heard it myself. Not something I test drove either but I'm not complaining as I'll either live with it or do something about it other that post 5k posts lmaoo!

    Cheers!

Ha! That escalated quickly. @EatSleepTacos Thanks for the advice. I'm not opposed to throwing on a relay (the horns came with one), I was just trying to see if the consensus was just hook it up and ground it and you are fine. But since it's not I'll take the extra fifteen minutes and add a relay and use the factory positive as my throw switch. While I do believe the original factory horn HAS to be hooked up to a relay and fuse somewhere it's not really worth risking it on a brand new 35k truck.

Ok, it continues. @Aussiek2000 @EatSleepTacos @SamChieftan I tried putting a relay on there tonight and had some problems. I followed the wiring diagram here....
    IMG_1544.jpg

except the horn switch I can't ground...Not too sure how I go about it. It only had the one positive coming from the factory wire. Any advice? I hooked up the ground from the compressor here.... (i have some other wiring on there from my light bars).

    IMG_1543.jpg

I took a bare wire and ran it from my 85 terminal on the relay to the ground and I do get the compressor to turn over so I know my relay wiring is good, but then I kept it running for a bit long and it blew the 10amp fuse......back to the drawing board. Thoughts?

Thanks again for all your help.

Awesome. you rule. Can the 85 and the compressor be grounded in the same terminal ring to the ground I showed pictured above?

^ yeah idea would have worked but i didn't want to swap out fuses as i only have 4k miles on it and get caught by toyota and have my warranty voided. tried this as a simple setup to confirm the compressor worked and my fuse blew after two honks.

Hmmm. That sounds like the compressor should. So when you blow the horn, the compressor kicks on but no toot?

Is your compressor blowing out air? Id pull off the line and check. May be a faulty compressor

Good call! I guess when I plugged it back in after dressing the cable I switched the leads. Came back out and put my finger in front of the exhaust and it was sucking in. Switched them back and man is this thing loud. Will post video when I get back. Can't thank you enough @EatSleepTacos
