i got a 10$ schosce wiring harness from Walmart and I noticed it says (non amplified, non JBL). I'm just doing a head unit right now but does that mean I can't drop in an amplifier at a later time with this harness installed?

I think that means it wont work on a factory amplified system

Wire colors are arbitrary, just because they match doesn't mean they should connect and just because one had a stripe doesn't mean it shouldn't.

There are general colors used for the same thing but it's not guaranteed especially if you do installs on multiple vehicle makes and ages. Just match up the diagram and the harness.

In general red is switched +
    Yellow constant +
Blue remote turn on, power antenna
    Orange illumination
    Black ground
