Hey Guys - trying to figure out how to wire an led light strip to my new camper shell. I’m not great at wiring but I feel like it shouldn’t be too hard. The cap installer ran one wire up from my left brake light to the brake light in the cap. What’s the easiest way to wire my light?

I did a switch in the bed and ran a positive wire to the battery (fused)

Depends on how you want the light powered. Do you want the switch to work with the lights on of lights off? If you want it independent of the lights then you’ll need to run a hot from the front of the truck all the way to the back.

I tapped into the trailer brake control (aftermarket) wiring in the back. But that’s ran all the way to the front as well. Just the trailer company did all the hard work for me.

Yeah, I’d rather not run from the battery. I’m fine with turning on the parking lights in order for the light to come on.
