So this weekend I installed my Pop&lock power lock actuator. I have a question for anyone who has wired one. I ran the wire on the inside of the frame all the way to the firewall. However after fully wiring it up I had second thought on my routing and wonder if I will have an issue. I ran the wire up the passenger side. It is pretty close to the exhaust. I tucked it behind the heat shield but now fear that could be to hot for the wires. Anyone have an opinion? BTW it works great and I recommend it to anyone.

How close to the heat shield? I have the same lock. I ran mine along the frame and went up through the floor.

What I would do is get the truck to operating temp and try to feel how hot the area is with the wire, without injuring yourself of course. See if it's too hot or if it stays cool enough.

I just got mine today, I installed everything correctly blue/red and blue/black wires for my 2011 taco. Nothing works, I know if the wiring is backwards you just switch the two bullet connectors on the actuator. I did that and still nothing happens, the actuator doesn't even move, do you know what the problem might be?. I hate that I had to do all this work for that bullshit to happen

Well I am not much of an electrical guru by any means. I was nervous doing the install but after watching it on youtube and reading the directions I just couldn't resist to try it on my own. I would imagine if you have a electrical tester you should be able to test the wires to see if they are getting power when actuating the locks.
