I have an arb compressor mounted under my hood and I want to run an airline under the vehicle to the driver side bed cubby. I basically want to figure out a way to have two switches connected to the single compressor so I can turn the air on from the back cubby too. I talked to ARB tech support and they can’t give me any advice cause it doesn’t say anything in their manual. Anybody done this or have any clue on how to?

As long as the switches run in parallel, it should work fine. I don’t have one, so I can’t help with the specifics, but think of it as connecting both switches like the other one isn’t there. Then whichever you use will turn on the compressor. Since it’s a high-load item, make sure the wiring is appropriate for the load. Assuming it’s normally controlled through a relay (so the switch and it’s wire don’t carry the full current for the compressor), both switches would connect to the relay.

Is this what you currently have?

A pair of On-On SPDT switches will do:

That’s what I currently have yes. I would like to keep the ARB switch I have an somehow add another switch in the back that I could use to power the compressor so I don’t have to go all the way to the from of my truck to turn on the compressor

I myself am also trying to figure out how to run a set up like this. I know it’s possible since AP off-road offers a harness that does it. Not sure if they would be willing to help if you give them a call.

Another bonus is that the compressor harnesses include an integrated switch circuit that allows you to mount a rocker switch in the bed, the cab, or both to control the compressor. Both switches are independent of one another so the compressor can be turned on even if the other switch is in the “OFF” position. Switches are not included.

I agree. Just pointing out to OP that it is possible since it’s been done. And that’s why I’m hoping to make it work myself.

Poor man's solution if you have a source of power at each switch location. Just use two SPST switches and install a diode (not an LED) in each (+) line from the switches to the compressor if you don't want to back-feed the wire from the unused switch. Disregard the (-) notation on the cathode side of the diode. Just connect the (+) wire FROM the switch to the anode side, and a wire from the cathode side TO the (+) terminal on the compressor. It will act like a one-way valve. Install the diodes close to the compressor. Make sure everything is rated for the proper amperage for your compressor.

All you need is to run a pair of wires to the back and a SPST or DPST like this

What would be the easiest way to have one switch at the bed of the Tacoma because you would need voltage for the switch led and you would need 12v for the switch?

In other words where are people grabbing the 12v for the switch if you ONLY have the switch in the bed

Did you ever get the second switch figured out? Looking to run a second switch into the cab.

This is the way. If you want to illuminate the switch use the same 12V source. If you want it to dim and all that nonsense, don't, it's just a waste of time.
