    Just for you @McSpazatron...

So I just did it on my old spare. I Debeaded it then used starting fluid to rebead. I had to give it a little kick to help it seat. Guessing needed more spray.. I tried to take video but it was hard, and I suck lol.. but here's a link to the crappy video that you'd think Michael J Fox took.
    Edit - Video link removed.

I think I watched that same video. I've only gone down to around 16-17 psi on my stock tires. I am also hesitant to go lower than about 15. If nothing else I figure it will be a good time to use my traction boards and tow strap.

I've had to do it to seat riding lawnmower tires. It's pretty scary, but works well.

NO, the "poof" is sucking all the oxygen out of the tire,

the trick is the right combination of fluid and flame front.

    Lol! Nice video!

Hat's off for making it work! It's good to know someone in the crew has successfully pulled it off. :)

I’ve run both my trucks down to 10. Only way you toss a bead is doing something dumb like going too fast or lots of side pressure

tundra is real nice at 12-15

Thank you for the input. Is that what you'd recommend in snow? We shouldn't really be doing anything to put a ton of pressure on the beads, but there are some rocks mixed in.

I was thinking about starting at 15, and dropping more if needed.

What size are you running on the Tundra?

Depends what you are doing. Once it gets cold and snowy, I usually run 25-30.

playing on rocks, I’ll usually go around 15

tundra is whatever the stock size is, I just swapped them to falkens of the same size

Fricken epic you decided to do this lol. :101010:

So it seems a fair amount of spray was needed. Did your kick at the end cause the gas inside the tire to combust?

Or was it that it already poofed but it didnt seat?

Or did it actually poof twice?

I did not see any limbs or appendages on the ground, so from the safety of my keyboard, I declare this method both viable, and safe for emergency use.:p

We'll be on roads and trails with packed snow. Some areas might be deep, but I don't know how much snow they've gotten up there so far, and how much has melted. Areas that don't get any traffic all winter will probably be the most interesting.

interesting…but are there combusted gases (CO2) left over inside the tire, after it seats, that result in pressure?

I guess Im wondering if too much spray can cause a tire to explode from too much air/gas pressure.

I wonder the same thing. I haven't heard of it happening, but I haven't really looked into it that much.

Not that I know of, it's not really CO2 just the lack of oxygen inside the tire,

I have seen ATV tires grow to twice their size for couple seconds and return to normal as the fire goes out, but still needed psi air to inflate them.

That sounds terrifying. But again, @jstemp proved it was perfectly safe judging from a lack of shrieking and lost body parts.

I have to say, I really liked the bugs bunny style fuse jstemp sprayed down so you dont have to be as close to it when it lights off. We think alike :)

From a few times I have had to do this, yes there is residual pressure inside the tire. The tire still needs to be inflated to proper pressure so this isn't something you can do with the weight of the truck on the deflated tire.
Also depending on how much accelerant is used you may have to quickly put out a burning tire.

It only poofed once, if you can hear past my heavy breathing at the end you can hear it. I had to give a kick to get the inside to combust. Even though the bead was off it was tightish around the rim.

After the bead was seated there was no pressure in the tire. I would assume residual pressure comes down to how much spray is used.

Got all appendages, I know hard to tell, by the video you'd think I lost a leg or two lol.
