Dells is pretty seasonal and they roll up the sidewalks after Labor Day. You can still enjoy some indoor wayer parks if you're staying at Great Wolf, Kalahari, or Chula Vista. There's a beer event in October that's city-wide and impressive even from a beer elitist like me.

Devil's Lake is an amazing hike but its a pretty substantial Uber trip. Really beautiful and I've never seen anything like it in my travels.

Then there's always Ho Chunk Casino.

Good luck! Its a bit of a tourist city, but there's some nice nature to see.

I'm detecting a little bit of snarkiness in this comment.

I'm open to suggestions for the name. I just don't want to keep calling it "the big rock."

Maybe we can call it "Ford Rock" or "Fistbump Rock" after the drunken Ford guy that harassed us as we were trying to head to the next section of the trail.

Thank you. I will be at Kalahari all week for a work conference. Ive seen Ripleys in Atlantic City so that would probably be redundant. I will wonder around, thanks.

Thanks! I will be at the Kalahari for a convention for a software product we use at work. I live near Atlantic City so i have my fill of Casinos. I will have to check the dates on that beer festival, thank you!

Devil's lake really is great, I highly recommend it. Fishing and lots of hiking over different terrain. Woods, prairie, around the lake and through the Talus fields. If you weigh the cost of an Uber vs the cost of waterpark/theme park tickets it's comparable especially if you enjoy the outdoors

Don't hang out with me while you're there

Umm, Mirror Lake has some decent hiking and its right in town, otherwise the resorts are kind of the biggest draw to the town. Baraboo (10 miles south) has Devils Lake State Park which is nice.

OK, so naming the rock after myself flew over like a lead balloon. What about the other ideas? Anybody have a different suggestion?

oh man! I just found this thread! I wish I would have stumbled upon it sooner. I was actually up there last week tooling around Old Grave Road on my dual sport. Favorite campsite is on that road right on the creek. I would love to join if you all plan on doing it again.

I plan on repeating the trip next year.

Also, a handful of us are meeting November 9th at Potosi brewery for lunch and running a section of the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail.
