Well, unfortunately I got pretty ill on Friday and didn't actually sleep in the tent. I had set it all up, but when I was going through sweats and chills I decided to stay in my truck where I had a little more control over the temperature.

It did set up nice and easy and looked great! Only issue I had was that I was set up basically on solid ice with some snow cover, and while breaking down camp one of the new aluminum tent stakes was not budging from the ice where I had pounded it in with a rubber mallet. I was ready to leave it for the spring thaw, but @Camerasandcoffee somehow managed to free it after I had left for breakfast. That Jonathan is one resourceful dude to have along in the wilderness!

:rofl:Yep,ours flickered and went out for 20 mins. I set my phone alarm as a backup. I still need to buy 2 battery backups for my 2 sump pumps. I guess I’ll learn the hard way. It will happen when I put all the drywall up and the new flooring!!!

These are super awesome shots! And I love the drone footage from Picnic Point.

Thanks glad you like them! Drone only made one brief flight because we ran out of daylight and the campfire (bonfire? semi-controlled burn?) needed to get lit. Wish I could have taken a longer path of the area with some landscape shots but it was cold & dark.

One final thing I forgot to share earlier was a recording of the track. It's not perfect but pretty close - forgot to start recording a couple times until driving away 1/4 mile, and the app crashed once. Overall on Saturday we drove about 115 miles of trail & road. Sunday's final short adventure was about 9 miles before we got sick of driving on ice. GPX file attached with the track.

Is it too early to set a date for Tigerton in August? I really don't want to miss that one, but my family is planning vacations and my brother will be coming in from CA in August. I'm guessing we're choosing between the weekends of the 11-13 or 18-20 as @Thatbassguy mentioned up top that he has something booked for the last weekend. Any preferences?

Not sure where it all fits... Probably going to be on a river out west (Salmon /Hells Canyon). See how it shakes out. Love Tigerton! June and August are pretty full already for me... May is all work, every weekend and a good chunk of July already as well. (gotta pay for the regear and lockers...) Crazy-bike season has started early for me this year; sold 15 bikes this week. Nice bit of extra income right before taxes and MOAB!

Is it too late for anybody to plan a Moab trip Sept. 23- Oct 1? ( Yeah, I'm going twice this year) I've been waiting for a friend to finalize his vaca schedule, and he just messaged me that he got those dates off.

Any idea which dates your brother will be visiting?

It doesn't look like Downsville Day is planned yet, but I'm guessing it will be the 26th.

Aside from that, I think I'd be ok with either of those 2 weekends you mentioned. Let me see if I can find out for sure.

He's mentioned being here August 14-21, but nothing is locked in yet and I told him I was gonna check on the Tigerton trip. I guess I'd prefer the weekend of 11-13. We're planning a trip to Tennessee when they're here, probably going to Dollywood. I'm thinking we'd do that the 17-20 if we stick to his dates. I just started looking, and there are some amazing cabins to stay at in that area (Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg). I'm going to have to check with some of the guys down there and see if I can get some wheeling in with locals or something. I'll likely be taking the truck down there.

If given a choice I like the 11th-13th. Might be the last outing with the WI crew as a WI resident :(

Last year at Tigerton the girl in the office said that because the main season is over we didn't have to follow any if the trail signs. Maybe do Sept again.
    August is fine also.

Trail signs aren't hard, one day the main loop is clockwise the next day its counter clockwise.

We can probably lock that in. That's probably the safer weekend for me.

    :pout:

I hope you guys can visit! And, I'll definitely hit you up when I finally get out west!

I'm sure someone will do it. :spy:
