I made the mistake of washing the truck before unloading. A wet muddy mess all around the truck. While unloading, the cat decided to jump into the truck. He had to walk through the Iowa mud first.
    Damm cat.
O'well, it's all part of the Adventure.

I unloaded the truck in a snow squall yesterday. Glad I did... there were 8" on the walk this morning and I can't see the garage from the house due to blizzard conditions. Its 9 now and we have almost a foot on the ground... winter has not given up yet.

I'll echo what everyone else has already said: great time seeing everyone, running trails, and drinking copious amounts of Old Fashioneds.

After I broke away from you fine gentlemen in Boscobel and continued the route, I ended up finishing the whole route back east. Didn't get back home to Kenosha until 10:30pm but it was worth it. Ended up moving that downed tree that Carlos mentioned, possibly ruining my shoes, and ran that sloppy muddy section from that same direction (I don't think it could be done the opposite way given the conditions). Video coming whenever I can find time to pull all that stuff out, should be sometime this week.

Epic! Very nice. And also, you crazy to do it by yourself!

In either case, your video will be nice to help me judge my own judgement. I’d consider myself to be on the skittish side when it comes to risks with my daily driver, but I’m open to growth lol.

I forgot to mention that I also appreciated you coming along out to boscobel! I don’t mind exploring around aimlessly all by my lonesome, but it’s always much nicer in groups. Especially when they can answer random wildlife questions along the way. Had you not been there, I would have told everyone there are emus in Boscobel lol:rofl:

Is that what the cat said? Cuz, tell you whut, I would have given that cat an adventure to remember:

    :washing:

Kidding kidding, I’d never put a cat in a washing machine.

    :stirthepot:

eeek! I wouldnt cook it either…sorry emoji spellcheck is acting up. Really, I love cats.

Yes it was quite dumb to do alone. I normally would not have attempted it but it felt solid underneath the top layer of slop. Worst case I had my bed set up in the camper shell lol.

And always welcome to share random wildlife facts. Didn't get a chance to say earlier but there was a turkey statue/sculpture thing in Boscobel right before the gas station - that one was an adult male or a "Tom" and has a long beard that sticks out of it's chest. Adolescent males are called "Jakes" and have shorter beards and don't generally make the gobble noise that an adult male does. The one we saw was a female or a "hen".

That's what I'm here for, the mods and the gear.
Any energy I had that morning completely drained as I left Fennimore. Stopped there for a quick power nap and then ate some food.

Also, had a great time this weekend, the weather was cooperative for the most part, and great meeting all the new people and seeing everyone. Looking forward to the next outing.

Can anyone suggest good video editing software (preferably free) so I can work on my dashcam video from the trails?

Here are a couple pics from me; sunset, nighttime of Prairie Du Chien, amazing sunrise, and my bridge pose.

Good meeting you, even if you are a Patriots fan! Just kidding man. Check out DaVinci Resolve for free video editing, it's powerful.

That’s 16 inches of snow in Washburn wi for those that asked.
    It’s still coming down .
For those that know where the fire tower is I’m about 3/4 mile away from it as the crow flies.

Thanks to @Thatbassguy for organizing the outing. I had a great time as I am Noob at camping. I will definitely do it again. It was great meeting everyone some old and some new looking forward to meeting up again.
Maybe later this year all depends on my work schedule. Thanks @rockindoc75 for sharing the campsite. Good times!

So I had a crazy thought to toss out there for next spring...

I went south to the Ill-Kentucky border in 2017 to watch a total solar eclipse.
We watched the eclipse from the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
The area was pretty cool, but being in a MINI, I couldn't really explore.
    661D4FC1-9148-407C-9A92-D5E84E9FFDF3.jpg
There is another total solar eclipse in the same area next spring, on Monday April 8th around 3pm-ish.
It would require taking Monday off, and potentially Tuesday as well, but if you are into things like the eclipse, it's pretty amazing to experience. I was thinking going down after work Friday or early Saturday and exploring the trails on Sunday and Monday am, then doing the eclipse thing Monday pm.

Just tossing that out there to see if there is any interest.

The view of the bridge is awesome. I want to hit that park at dusk. A view from above when the bridge lights up must be amazing.
